This mods does 4 things:

1: Doubles the defense values of all armor.

Armor should matter. There's a reason why people in war wore it.

- A good quality gambeson will lessen the slash of most blades and stop completely a lesser blade. With chain mail on top, you're virtually impervious to most edged weapon's slashes. Even arrows fired from low-mid tier weighted bows will have difficulty penetrating a good quality gambeson (20-30 layers layers of linen w/ cotton insulation).

- Lamellar, coat of plates, brigandine, and especially plate armors remove most if not all bladed weapons from the equation. Warhammers and maces can concuss and possibly injure, but they even have trouble.

2: Increases the attack modifiers of all melee weapons by 0.1 or 10% rounded up to the nearest 0.05 or 5%

Again, armor should matter. When stamina runs out, more damage taken. When unarmored, even more dangerous.

2. Reworks polearm attack modifiers.

Lowered top end slash and stab attack modifiers and increased smash modifiers to reflect the weapon's weight and leverage. Polearm damage values exceed their smaller counterparts by about 25-50% instead of the vanilla near 100%. The primary advantage of a polearm is its length and leverage - it doesn't necessarily do double the damage, which is why I put more emphasis on the smash than slash and stab.

3. Lowers bow base power by 0.1 to 0.2 or 10% to 20% on the high end and 0.05 or 5% on the low end  - rounded down to the nearest 0.05 or 5%.

Bows don't do well against armor, in general. In the vanilla game, bows are tuned way too high, especially in late game. Even with the nerf they're still very effective against lightly armored opponents or open faced armored opponents. Basically you'll have to aim for arms, legs, and face just like they did in actual medieval warfare.

--- Late Note: All these figures are designed for late game when your strength is 15+. In the beginning it's going to seems like it takes forever to kill an enemy, which is realistic. All their vital organs are covered in armor so it becomes a fight of blood loss and attrition.
