If you are interested in translating this mod, here's a quick guide: - English strings are in ogp_english.xml within english.pak (there's also a french translation in french.pak) - You have to name your translation file ogp_xxxxxx.xml, where xxxxxx is the language (ie: german, italian, polish, russian, spanish, or turkish). - Put that file at the root of a pak archive. The name of the .pak does not matter.
Why can't I change the shader option to high at least? That's what's keeping me from using this mod. Also, HD textures don't seem to be working even after modifying the attributes file.
Mods works fine your just not doing it the correct way.Well if your going to load the game with HD textures and try to set ultra texture settings then your game will not change settings. I will help you ,Look at post couple below this one.
it says 1) Navigate to: C:\Users\Username\Saved Games\kingdomcome\profiles\default 2) Open the file attributes.xml with a editor (like the windows editor or Notepad++) 3) Change<Attr name="wh_r_HDTextures" value="false" /> to<Attr name="wh_r_HDTextures" value="true" /> 4) save the file (maybe set it to read only) *to be able to save the changes in advance settings 1)go to Kingdom Come Deliverance\Data 2)then open pak.cfg with Notepad ++ and add the line "data\zzz_optimized_graphic_presets.pak" (without quotation marks) at the end of the file and save. 3)set the file as read-only.
Try going into the mod folder, then data and open core.pak Inside is ogp_advancedSettingsMenu.xml Open it and find sys_spec_ogp_shading I changed the value for medium from -3 to -5 and it seems to do the trick
Installed its successor (wilecoyotes mod), it made a huge difference and its smooth pretty much everywhere now except towns. SMAA 1x is a must, make everything less grainy and even (perhaps placebo) tones down the stutters.
OK dudes, hopefully this helps someone, I've got this mod BASICALLY working in 1.9.6 without breaking the UI. It's not perfect, and you don't have 100% control over the settings in game, but the menu sticking bug is gone and you CAN apply the presets and see massive performance boosts. I'm now running with V-High/Ultra settings in Rattay on a 3070 getting 70+FPS while static and dipping to 40 when on horseback, with little to no stutter. This is a vast improvement on always dropping to 20 FPS on horseback when you reach the town square.
So how I got it to work is as follows:
Download the mod manually and unpack it
Install the mod as you would any other, by adding the extracted "optimized_graphic_presets" mod folder into your "mods" folder in your KCD directory
Install KCD_flowgraph_hook from here - https://github.com/OVNI-modding/kcd_flowgraph_hook just as you would any other mod
Open your "mod_order" file and add "optimized_graphic_presets" and "kcd_flowgraph_hook-master" to your load order
From the Data folder in the extracted mod package, copy the "zzz_optimized_graphic_presets" PAK file into your Data folder in the KCD Directory
Open the "pak.cfg" file in your Data folder and add the line "zzz_optimized_graphic_presets.pak" at the bottom
Go back to the actual mod folder in "...KCD/mods/optimized_graphic_presets/Data" folder
Using an archive tool like Winrar or 7-Zip, open "core.pak" to see the folder structure. You will see multiple XML files and a "Scripts" folder. Drill into the Scripts folder.
In "Scripts" you will see multiple .lua files which can be opened in any text editor, and another folder called "Startup". Drill into the startup folder.
You will now see 1 file - "ogp_main.lua". Open this in a text editor and scroll to the bottom to find a switch/case type function called "function ogp.SetProfile" , under which you will see 7 variations. This next part might seem tricky but bear with me - each of these lines ends with "( 'exec Config/ogp_xxx' )" where the "xxx" is the actual OGP profile being applied. Change ALL of these to the profile you wish to apply. In my case, I changed every single line to end with "( 'exec Config/ogp_ultra' )". This will force the profile you want when you select a preset
At the top of the command is a line which tells the mod to ignore the profiles if a custom profile is applied - "-- custom profile, do nothing" - remove this and replace with "System.ExecuteCommand( 'exec Config/ogp_xxx' )" again with "xxx" being your chosen profile, and it will be applied even if the the UI doesn't register your input and write the profile you've chosen.
Finally, and most importantly to get rid of the UI sticking in the menu bug, go to "...KCD/mods/optimized_graphic_presets/Data" and delete the "zzz_kcd_flowgraph_hook.pak" file.
This has worked for me and the game runs 10x better than it did with any other mods - and trust me I've been through them all at this point. Sorry I'm not savvy enough to actually just FIX the lua menu options, but I hope this workaround helps others struggling to get this game to run properly. Good luck!
if you cant change your video settings, if your video settings f***ed up guys after 1.9 patch update You have to add that command again there... Data > pak.cfgdata\zzz_optimized_graphic_presets.pak
Can confirm but will 10/10 deal with it seeing as the inventory acts as a replacement for "pause" and otherwise I only use the pause menu for quitting. *edit* must also deal without hud due to this...hmm
Same issue after I created a new "mods" folder, instead of the "old_mods" folder created by this new 1.9 patch. If you hit escape to make the HUD appears, you're litterally stuck in the main menu, the only thing you can do is quitting the game or play without any HUD...
I hope someone found a fix soon, because this mod is really good and gave you a lot of fps.
I suppose to fix this problem you have to delete "zzzzzz_kcd_flowgraph_hook.pak" from the "Mods\optimized_graphic_presets\Data".
Anyone can check if it works, because i don't have KCD but in the past I was doing mods for private usage. But by doing that i think you will not be able to change graphic configuration. This is just a theory, so do not harass me if it doesn't help.
Deleting "zzzzzz_kcd_flowgraph_hook.pak" fixes the menu issue! Changes made during a session are applied as well, so menu is functional. Only issue is the changes are not saved from one session to the next.
Any idea where i could set graphics settings for this mod out of game so that we dont have to re apply the optimal settings every session?
EDIT: e.g. i want to start off with these OGP settings, dunno how to achieve this though
As I remember Optimized Graphic Presets save settings in documents, where you have saved games..
It can be this path: C:\Users\~UserName~\Saved Games\kingdomcome
or this path: C:\Users\~UserName~\Documents'kingdomcome
From what I remember the file was named "ogp_settings" and it;s format was .xml i think. So, you have to open the game and change graphic settings you wish to, then apply in the game, then go to this file, right click on it, go properties and change to "only to read" or "read only" (i dont remember). I hope that it will help you somehow.
Or you can place again file "zzzzzz_kcd_flowgraph_hook.pak", change settings and again delete it. Good Luck.
Interestingly it can write to ogpsettings.xml without the hook. But loads default values when hook is missing regardless of what is in the ogpsettings.xml.
So the hook required to load from ogpsettings.xml not write to it.
Wish it was the other way round ...
Anyway thanks for help. I'm sure someone with game installed and tech savvy will figure it out :P
I applied all the settings through user.cfg and it works. Loads up settings that i want :) I can still experiment in game using functional menu but if i want to apply and save for future session i extract value from settings.xml and paste into user.cfg.
At least the mod is usable now after 1.9 patch, but if you can fix the problem with the graphic settings who resets everytime when you launch the game, it will be perfect !
Hi guys. Finally I fixed by rewriting the file line by line. All because there was a lot of game updates since the last update this mod, and that's why it wasn't easy to fix. https://www72.zippyshare.com/v/VAQbcuID/file.html
Place it in: "Mods\optimized_graphic_presets\Data".
Or you can download full unofficial version: https://www34.zippyshare.com/v/HrHD3cJG/file.html
Thank you figo 283 you saved my gameplay with better and fluid graphics you should reach the devloppers of this mod to implement your feature. Big thanks to you, you are the best.
Ye nah .It's still "Under moderation" . 4 months later . Unless your mod is filled with terabytes of hardcore furry smut i don't know what could take them 4 effin' months to 'moderate' .
Hey @OVNI since Wilcoyote deleted his mod.. what should we do now? Your mod doesn't work and there is no alternative mod to fix and optimise the game.. what a shame
The dude appears to have had a meltdown and deleted most of his stuff from the internet except a few random mods on Mods In Exile site.
I downloaded his last version (Optimized Graphic Presets-1141-3-8-5-1615184368.zip) off some google link I think but I can't post url as it gets you banned (they read private PM's also, so don't message me). Search Reddit for the link.
One thing I found is, read the OGP readme on howto install, avoid mod conflicts (look in pak files), and in my experience if r_VolumetricFogTexScale is set to anything above 1024, lights cause flickering! OGP sets it to 4096!
Great mod but the water is really glitchy for me and keeps on flickering into different colors, I can't change the settings for water either it just sticks on optimized. Any suggestions?
Install the mod normally then go to Kingdom Come Deliverance\Data then open pak.cfg with Notepad++ and add the line "data\zzz_optimized_graphic_presets.pak" (without quotation marks) at the end of the file and save.
This fixed the issue for me. Also credit for solution goes to /u/SimplyTrustingJesus from Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/kingdomcome/comments/8upi81/cannot_change_graphic_settings_using_optimized/e1izdxn/
Praise the heralds, thank you for sharing this fix!!! It worked for me, was driving me mad having to redo graphics settings each time, particularly because my old GPU is unstable and I was getting crash to desktops one every 1-6 hours.
Ok, thanks for the link to the replacement mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/kingdomcomedeliverance/mods/1141
With this mod installed now: After going into esc menu can’t resume the game after 1.9 "So it turns out that it was a mod’s fault( optimized graphic presets). Its a bummer because the mod did really improve the quality and performance of the game but at least its fixed."

I havent tested extensively yet but at least the ESC menu doesnt cause any issues anymore with your changes.
Your hook doesnt cause menu to get stuck.
However, it is not remembering settings (i guess not reading ogpsettings.xml) from one session to next. :(
However, I will work on it during a break at work and maybe something i will come up with.
At least the mod is usable now after 1.9 patch, but if you can fix the problem with the graphic settings who resets everytime when you launch the game, it will be perfect !
