About this mod

....took me way too long to come up with a short title that immediately told you what you need to know. Should unhide a few specific items no matter which "hide hats" mod you're using.

Changelogs
After installing a "hide helmets" mod,

I realized there is some headgear that I DID want to always have showing. This mod reverts the following headgear to vanilla values, which should make them visible again if you load it afterany of the "hide hats" mods:

  • Ashland Hat
  • Ashlander Stormgoggles
  • Basket Hat
  • Fog Mask
  • Mask Type III
  • Ninja Mask
  • Skeleton Mask
  • Swamp Ninja Mask
  • Tricorn Hat

This patch should work with almost ANY of the various mods that hide headgear, unless they used a really bizarre method to do it. Most simply blank out the reference to the helmet's mesh. This mod restores it.

Why this specific list of headgear?

  • The Ashland Hat or Ninja Mask should pretty much never be used if your head is in any actual danger, outside their very specific use cases like Deadlands travel - or you just like old-school leather hats and round shades worn by classic Goth frontmen. Or you RP. Whatever, you want to see it I'm guessing.
  • Likewise the various gas masks are probably being worn for a specific reason, like traveling *cough* through certain areas *hack* *gag* and it's reeeeallly important to be 100% exactly who is wearing one and who isn't....
  • Ashlander Stormgoggles make everyone cooler and we want to see them. Square goggles are fugly and remain invisible.
  • Skeleton Mask and Tricorn Hat: if you're wearing these it's because you want to see it. So now you can, while still seeing the rest of your squad's faces. Also the Hounds etc. look just wrong without the latter.
  • And lastly the Basket Hat, because when you hide this item every Wandering Assassin completely loses its mojo and becomes just Some Random Schmuck.

The specific mod I'm using is:
Invisible Headgear mod (load ABOVE/BEFORE this mod, of course)
https://www.nexusmods.com/kenshi/mods/511

This mod has NO dependencies outside the base game since it's just UN-doing any changes made to the above items; and 99% of Hide Hats mods just use the delete-mesh-reference trick; so you should be good.

Let me know if you're using a no-headgear mod that doesn't work with this one (and provide a link to it please...).
