   Man I love this base but it's unplayable because the rock under the snailhouse disappears after a reload leaving a floating building behind

      The building is still accessible, right? So it's just a visual thing?

   All these problems (except for the crashing) can be fixed with a bit of fiddling with the console!

      I just let the building float.

      No, it works well for me, aside from a floating building and a few fixable pathing issues.
