Represented are names from a variety of cultures. To match the distribution of names seen in the unmodified game, most are of East Asian or Latin origin, and almost half of the new names are Japanese. Obscenities are not included, untoward names are avoided (if you see one, it's likely one of the default names).
The default names included with the game are not removed, but you'll be much less likely to see two people with the same name (for example, the chances for any one female name are 1:104 default, vs. 1:4361 modded, ~0.96% to ~0.023%).
The files themselves are only a few kilobytes in size, and this mod does not appear to affect game performance. The lists are not weighted, each name has an equal chance of selection.
Most names included are given names, almost all included surnames are those of Japanese origin.
Compatibility Note: Mods that alter the name lists are not compatible. Whichever name list is loaded last will be the only one used.
