    I usually don't comment but the textures aren't "enhanced" in any way. It's an artistic mess.
    It's interesting and nice to see a supposed updated texture... It gives me hope that someone else might pull if off in the future. This however, is a disgusting mess.

      This is not like Texture Options, this is packed as a mod.
      You need to put the folder "Enhanced_Textures" into your mods folder, then activate it in the launcher.

      There's a reason why I did Texture Options like this. Because if you put it like you did, in a mod, half of the textures won't register and won't change, that includes buildings, lots of terrain textures and so forth. So. If you overwrite the vanilla textures with your stuff you put here, you'll get broken stuff. If you want to make it proper, don't make it with a mod file, and don't compress textures. It causes all this pain. :3 I tried to make it as a toggleable mod too. That was the first Idea, but it doesn't work. I really should have reported this whole texture not registering situation to the forum as a bug long ago, come to think of it. But I'm unsure how to put it. Guess I'll try. Later.

      Wow, dude. That being said, but have you tried to overwrite the vanilla textures with your main file textures? I mean that's what the mod file claims to do. Try it. The effect is... I dunno how it happened, but all map features were gone, like... trees, and all stuff in the swamp and many more, like rock formations on the slopes of the grid. And yeah, lots and lots of black textures. Maybe it's a glitch on my side, but I highly doubt it. Makes me wonder how? O_O Try it.

      Google Translate said he tried to install it like your mod, that is all. Black textures indicate missing mipmaps.
      The textures here are literally recreated textures from the original game and replace them just fine. I did a lot of scripting to automate the process using imagemagick and other tools to put diffuse, normal and specular maps back together for the textures.

      I know what he said, I speak Russian. And I know about mipmaps and stuff, and you're speaking nonsense. Thing is, that your mod doesn't work. Ok. Did you try to overwrite the game folder with your modified textures? Just once? I tried. Will you? I apologize If I sound offensive, but I need to speak up to you, because really, this mod isn't doing anything, well, far off from what is prompted in the description. I told you why. If you'll have any questions, I'll be glad to answer. That is it.

      I stop this here, the screenshots alone are proof it works without touching the game files. All you need is a mod file which is activated and follow the folder structure.
      Changing the game textures directly was always hell in Skyrim where I started with such mods and it usually ended in a reinstall of the game. Alternatively you could use mod manager which handled the game files for you as best as they could.
      Kenshi has all this already build in and is easy to mod.

      Did you even read what I wrote to you? It wasn't a filler. Please. Just try to overwrite with your main file. It's all I ask. You'll understand that I'm not lying.

      Sorry, I just have no one to talk to, don't hate me, please. But yeah, your mod is definitely is a snake oil. It takes up the place, but doesn't do anything.

      Also, Kenshi is not Skyrim.

      And if you'll still continue to say that this mod is viable, well... okay. I can't do anything about it anyway.

      But I can yap, can't I? So. Here's the deal, muh dudes. This mod is a hoax. Probably not intentionally. But while the author denies logic, it will remain so.

      Sorry. I'm being an ass. Seriously. Sorry. ._.

      But your mod is still a shit. I can't oversee that too. Sorry. >_<

      It seems only the "newland"* folder did not load, it contains nearly all of the land textures and plants.
      However, the game is clever enough to load the original textures, if it cannot load the modded ones.
      This leaves nearly all the items, buildings, walls, characters and more to be updated by the mod.

      I uploaded a smaller file now and will investigate with the "nealand" textures, only thing changed is the file size.

      p.s. the way you report issues is unbelievable strange and offensive!

      *or lets say most of them again.

      OMG, I play with the newland folder!
      The top is the original texture and bottom is the enhanced from the newland folder: https://imgur.com/a/GMfZHtG
      I mean, even if not all load, if you replace them in the original game files, it does replace plenty as a mod and makes the game look better.

      You can actual read in the logs which folders are added. Seems the entire "newland" is not included. The rest is.

      Wonder why it's made that way and if rewriting the texture destinations in FCS will fix it. It should be 550+ edits, if it even works. I can't do that right now. :/ Maybe you'll try? :3 Plus meshes are in newland folder too, will it break things, I dunno. It hurts my little brain. I'll try, someday :/
      Sorry, again, I shouldn't have sweared, it was unnecessary and unprofessional. I tend to get emotional. >_<

      There is a workaround...
      Open the file resources.cfg in the main kenshi folder in a text editor.
      Under [General], above the newland entries, add your folders with custom textures. It should look like so:
      FileSystem=./mods/Enhanced_Textures/newland/Assets/Rocks
      FileSystem=./mods/Enhanced_Textures/newland/Assets/Things
      FileSystem=./mods/Enhanced_Textures/newland/Assets/Textures
      FileSystem=./mods/Enhanced_Textures/newland/Assets/Buildings
      FileSystem=./data/newland/Assets/Rocks
      FileSystem=./data/newland/Assets/Things
      FileSystem=./data/newland/Assets/Textures
      FileSystem=./data/newland/Assets/Buildings

      And under [foliage]
      FileSystem=./mods/Enhanced_Textures/newland/Assets/Plants
      FileSystem=./data/newland/Assets/Plants

      There is no resource for land :/

      This at least makes the game load the textures.

      And you are correct! In FCS they have the full path added for ie. Akakus_Rock_unit01_5K it says .\data\newland\Assets\Rocks\Akakus_RockNod_01_col.xml
      But I do not want to make 550 edits :D

      p.s. or maybe I will /flex

      After updating all "Desert" parts with the new folder path in FCS and added a new entry FileSystem=./mods/Enhanced_Textures/newland/land/textures
      under [landscape]
      https://imgur.com/vD0JEIH
      Left is without mod and right is with mod. Both with SSAO mod, though.

      p.s. don't worry, this is what modding is. Finding out how things work and try to get your stuff in there :P

      Did you try it? I see you removed the newland folder from the mod again. Was it because of black land textures? Anyway. I figured out that Kenshi textures don't like to be re-compressed. They're already proper DXT1, DXT5 and whatever. And when you re-compress them, they get wonky randomly, I spent a lot of time trying to pinpoint which textures exactly do that, but when I thought I got it, another texture got broken, so... yeah. Don't re-compress them.

      I did try a few. Thing is, the game is extremely clever and robust.
      I edited several biome for swamp and boneland, desert as well in FCS. Not all!
      Loading the game with the mod does certainly look different. But then I wanted to test and renamed the whole newland folder within the mod. The original textures loaded again ^^
      Using a mod to replace textures to manipulate the game is certainly better than replacing game files. If the game cannot load something, it takes the original.
      And I noticed it does not apply any lighting if my textures are loaded this way, means no bump map is used :( So I give up on this, looks worse than the original.

      I did not extra compress the original textures, they were already compressed, after my manipulation I only reburned the mipmaps or it would be black in a distance. But also the 1024 are fine, outside newland.

      That's the reason why my mod is not toggleable, but a replacement. To cut out all this uhm... inconvenience and to provide the result as I intended to. Also, a question. Why did you altered the exposition setting? It makes things hard on the eyes. Well, for me, at least. Not enough brightness and somesuch. But that's my personal opinion. But yeah, the ultimate goal is to make texture mods toggleable. That would be very nice.

    I hope there aren't pitch black nights (Something most modders tamper with when modding dark nights) as it would ruin traveling at night, as ambushes would be impossible to see as most enemies don't use torches!

      For me the nights were too bright, they are now nearly twice as dark but not pitch black (0.35->0.6).
      I had the sun sting my eyes in the desert during the day (0.8->0.9).

      Higher values make the world appear darker.

    The color enhancements look amazing, but I just can't deal with the load times caused by the original textures and had to switch to the 1024 texture pack from the "Texture Options" mod. (https://www.nexusmods.com/kenshi/mods/113) From the description of this mod, it looks like your texture files would be as large (and, therefore, as slow to load) as the originals. Is there any chance you might release 1024 and 512 versions of this mod for those of us who want a less-drab world, but don't have an SSD to run it from?

      The game has not many 4096x4096 textures, most are 2048x2048 and 1024x1024.
      I could reduce them all to 1024x1024, then it doesn't matter what quality you choose ingame.
