If you ever used the official SteamCMD tool to obtain Workshop Items for Kenshi while owning an installation of any kind of Kenshi, you may have noticed that the game launcher never recognizes steam mods. This is due to the launcher needing the mod folders to be named the same way as the .mod file inside of them. Instead Steam packs downloaded content in folders named with the respective ModID provided in their service (Example: "726254871" instead of "RecruitPrisoners").

What this tool does is making each mod folder inside your directory, be it Steam downloaded or Nexus, have consistency between folder name and respective .mod file, you'll be able to fix your Kenshi launcher not detecting your mods due to erroneous naming, be it due to human error on Personal/Nexus' side or Steam's policy.

HOW TO USE:

Find any directory containing your mods, be it Kenshi's or any personal repository of yours:

Drag the downloaded .bat file inside your directory containing the mods, and run it.

It's safe to use on folders that contain properly named mod folders and not, cause it will simply replace the name with itself, I've used it on sensible modpacks containing hundreds of Nexus/Steam mods with no collateral damage.

NOTES:

This is my first ever Nexus mod, so I don't know how malware detection really works in here, if Nexus may block downloads cause of the innate nature of a .bat file, open a discussion to let me know. Tool is completely safe cause I'm the first user of it, it saved me a lot of time personally.

This tool is particularly desirable for big collections of steam mods that somebody may download with SteamCMD, as renaming every mod inside would be a time consuming task. This tool makes it take seconds at worst.

Directory means the "outer" folder of the environment inside, meaning that if you want to browse your business documents, you'll go in the DIRECTORY named Documents containing all of your business, education, home, health document folders.

I'll make a linux counterpart in the near future since I'm planning to move on to Linux Mint (Xfce) for my potato pc. If needed I'll look onto a macOS if any apple guy actually plays Kenshi on his device...
