So after installing and copying the files, after creating a back-up, into my 7xxxxxxxxx folder, I find that most challenges aren't 5 geared or that the game is at the claimed 100% completion. My game tells me it's completed for 97%. I've tried deleting my 7xxxx file and letting the game recreate it and then fill it with the download, but it doesn't change. I don't know what else I could do except maybe modify the files, but they are complete giberish and there isn't a single word in these save files.

    Please, someone, help.
    Thank you

Found a fix for if JC3 starts from the beginning even if you've followed the steps correctly.

    1. after it launches from the start, close the game.
    2. go back to the Documents/ SquareEnix/ JustCause3/ Saves
    3. find the new save folder that will have been made after starting from the beginning.
    4. add the files from the 100% save file to this new folder, replacing all when prompted.
    5. Done

So, I re-installed the game after about a years hiatus from it, turns out my save was gone, had 100% and everything unlocked...

So found this, but theres a problem. Its a useless RAR file, cant change to zip file, as it cant be opened at all then...

    Help or re-upload is appreciated.

This is why you always backup files before adding new ones...... Lesson learned?

For anyone having probs with this...  All I did is take the files out of  his folder in the save game folder..  the one with the numbers  and copied all the files in it and whet to my documents folder .. it was here--->C:\Users\MY NAME\OneDrive\Documents\Square Enix\Just Cause 3\Saves.. opened my save game folder with all the numbers on it and pasted his files over mine... NOT BEFORE MAKING A BACKUP!!!!   so if I want to go back... I can or just start new...  it's really easy and IT WORKS!           and thank you for making this available...       PEACE...........  THE Z

How do I make a backup? I right clicked my Just Cause 3/Saves/7xxxxxxxx folder, and there's no back up option. I don't know how to back up files.

To be specific on how to make this save file to work, you have to go to Documents\Square Enix\Just Cause 3\Saves, make a backup of your "7xxxxxxx" folder somewhere else. Remember the last 4 digits of your "7xxxxxx" so you don't confuse it with the author's file. Then extract all files from the author's "7xxxxxxx" folder and replace(delete all of your own files) them in your own "7xxxxxx" folder.

Should I put it next to the save file folder or in the save file folder?
