Adds the Eoraptor Lunensis as a New Species to Jurassic World Evolution
Eoraptor was a small, early dinosaur, measuring approximately 1 meter (3.3 feet) in length and weighing around 10 kilograms (22 pounds). Its slender build and long tail suggest it was a nimble creature. Its dentition, featuring both sharp, pointed teeth and smaller, serrated teeth, indicates a likely omnivorous diet, capable of consuming both small animals and plant matter. Eoraptor was discovered in 1991 by paleontologist Ricardo Martinez in the Ischigualasto Formation of Argentina. This significant find, dating back to the Late Triassic period, has provided valuable insights into the early evolution of dinosaurs, positioning Eoraptor as one of the earliest known dinosaur species. Eoraptor inhabited the arid, floodplain environments of the Late Triassic period in what is now northwestern Argentina. This ancient ecosystem was teeming with diverse life, including various early dinosaurs like Herrerasaurus, as well as non-dinosaurian reptiles such as rhynchosaurs and rauisuchians. Eoraptor likely shared its world with early mammals and a variety of plant life, including ferns and cycads.
