About this mod
Updated for 30th anniversary. Reworks the amount of forest looked for by dinos so comfort for enclosures aren't a forest with a dot of water in front of a viewing gallery, improving creative builds with some open spaces to actually put things, and see the dinos from the ground.
- Permissions and credits
If you ever felt like some carnivores and sauropods felt like they were just a mass of forest with one visible sliver toward the viewing area, this mod should help with that! It does not change the amount of area a dinosaur needs, it just makes the space used not need as much forest. (About 40-60% changes over all species.) Sauropods were about halved, so you still need a lot, but there is now some open space to build with or mix other dinosaur species into!
Compatibility:
- Works in all game modes.
- Should cover all base game dinos. Seems to cover at least some of DLC dinos but I can't really check because only biosyn and feathered were wort- ANYWAY
- Should not affect ACSE modded dinos at all. Compatible with Kai everything, and modded dinos.
- Should be compatible with other mods that edit other parts of dinosaur behavior, but it depends how they do so- unless they also change dino environment core preferences rather than how they behave in the environment.
- Will NOT work with any Content 0 Main.ovl replacer mods.
Installation:
Unfortunately this mod is a reaplcer type mod. (It's compatible with ACSE being installed and other ACSE mods, I just can't make THIS an ACSE based mod.); Doing so just adds an extra forest need to the dino that the game doesn't honor, so it is an OVL replacer mod if you want to use it. I made it for me and I've chosen to share it, you do you.
Just go to your OVL data folder, unzip this mod, and paste the Ovl 0 folder there. The path is generally:
C:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Jurassic World Evolution 2\Win64\ovldata
Uninstallation:
Will automatically delete itself when the game updates. Trying to reinstall it will lead to a crash- this is a very game version dependent mod and was made on 4/26/2023.
Bug: Yutyrantus doesn't appear to be affected by the mod.
