About this mod
This mod aims to overhaul how the dinosaurs behave, establish territory and hunt. The animals will now rest in groups, set up a stable territory overtime and dynamically hunt prey.
This is simply the combination of the standalone mods "Expanded Hunting" and "Established Territories".

The two main aspects of dinosaur behavior that this mod overhauls are territory creation/general idle roaming and hunting.
Territory creation/idle roaming:
Overhauls how the dinosaurs' territory is created and reinforced. It also reworks their idle behaviors to follow the herd leader, rest in groups and herd more often.
Once a dinosaur settles itself into its environment, it will no longer expand its territory. A dinosaur will only expand when its paleo needs aren't met. When a dinosaur cannot find food or water within its territory, it will seek it outside of its home without expanding but will quickly return.
The combination of this with their propensity to stick together leads to much smaller territories that are much more stable over time. It is now much easier to design their territories to be in specific locations as long as you take care of their needs.
Hunting:
Chase sequences are now much more dynamic. One or more predators can chase down prey and more can join in mid-hunt as the sequence isn't locked in anymore. On top of this, the predators are now able to change their prey target during a hunt based on their distance from other potential prey. This leads to situations where you truly do not know how the hunt will go as this adds a level of randomness.
All Predators (including pack hunters) will now stalk prey when:
- prey is sleeping
- prey is feeding
- prey is preening itself or rolling around
- prey is resting
- prey is drinking
Pack hunting can now take a different resolution/sequence: The prey now has the possibility to continue to run away from the group of hunters even if some are latched on (in vanilla they would immediately stand their ground when jumped). When it no longer has enough stamina to run, it will then resort to fending off the attackers. Chases can last long as hunters now have a harder time latching on mid-run.
Feature list:
- Dynamic 1vX hunts
- Stalking behavior
- Dynamic target change during hunts, predators don't lock onto their prey anymore
- New type of pack hunts
- Territories are established and then stay static as long as needs are met
- Group resting / leader following (follow their leader around and rest when the leader is busy resting/eating/preening/drinking)
- Lost dinosaurs, be they herbivores that panicked too far out or carnivores that chased prey across the map, will find their way back to their territory.
Known issues:
- If you have a large park with many dinos and you speed up time, the carnivores stop and start chases when they decide to hunt. This makes it extra hard for them to hunt down prey, so be advised that they might starve if you play non-stop at a high speed. If so is the case, add a static feeder for them to feed off of.
BIG THANK YOU to Kaiodenic whose patience is unmatched and whose generosity is overflowing. He nudged me the right way, without him I would not have been able to create and use custom functions necessary for this mod.
