About this image
Alright, can we talk about the Modding community of JWE2?
I see a lot of problems in the community rn, especially regarding posts.
I'll start with the Mod Ideas.
Mod Ideas are one of the most annoying posts in my opinion, and many modders stopped even looking at them, because on how annoying they are.
The thing is in the most cases they are just incredibly stupid too.
And for example I'll just take the Scorpios Rex ideas :D
The Scorpios Rex is a pretty obvious idea, which was already annoying in the first game. Camp Cretaceous Season 2 came out; Instantly a mod idea suggesting the Scorpios Rex.
At this point most of the modders already thought about making a Scorpios Rex because... Well, it's from the Jurassic World franchise and many people want it.
At the end we got 4 Scorpios Rex.
This shows the first problem of Mod Ideas.
Most of the times they are really really obvious.
The people could have thought that someone is making Scorpios Rex already since it is pretty known in the JWE Modding community.
And right now, it is the same in JWE2, but this time even more stupid.
People are begging for it, so much that there are several mod ideas just for Scorpios Rex, which just makes an obvious Mod Idea even worse.
Guys. A mod won't come faster when you ask for it 5 times. In fact, most people just wait longer then, until the people shut up and release it then.
Another problem with Mod Ideas is that no Mod Idea gets actually considered by a modder then.
If you post a Mod Idea of... Let's say Tarbosaurus, a modder won't make it because of the post.
And IF a modder actually makes a Tarbosaurus, then he thought of it himself, not because of the Mod Idea.
At least normally.
In JWE1 me and TinyGamer2003 made a pack based on a Mod Idea, on purpose to show people how to make a Mod Idea, since the Mod Idea we made was actually pretty good.
And this brings us to the next problem; How is the Mod Idea made?
The Mod Idea which we made based on the Mod Idea was 1st really good and 2nd was pretty good written.
When you just put in an image, and write as title "Mod Idea" without any description it is... Well, it's nothing tbh.
BUT when you write some stuff in the description, as example which rig it could use, or in general SOMETHING, it is just a better idea.
However, most people just write "I want it" or type literally nothing.
Sometimes the Mod Idea has a dinosaur from a franchise some people don't even know, which makes it pretty stupid when you don't even have a description in it.
Next thing. NeW sPeCiEs.
I know, I already made a post about it but... Things changed a bit.
First of all, New Species still aren't official, so PLEASE, don't ask a modder to make their thing a New Species, even if he already made one.
One thing, you don't need a DLC anymore, you could base it on every creature in the game.
We base it on "Prefabs" in the meanwhile, which we still don't really have. We got them by the cobra dev Inaki, who doesn't just give them anymore, because New Species still aren't official.
And I can understand him, since setting up these prefabs took a long long time, and they still have a lot of problems to work on.
Now, every modder just asking him to give them a prefab of a specific creature is just... Kinda disrespectful?
And while writing with him I also realized how pointless it is to make New Species before it is official, since all of the Bugs.
We release a New Species, who can't hunt, fight, sometimes even breaks the vanilla creatures when you make a small mistake or crashes the game when it eats a fish, ehh.
It is pointless imo, it is better to wait until all those bugs are fixed, and that's probably the reason why the tutorial on how to make a New Species is still not out.
And I even have my Neovenator as a New Species which I didn't release yet (mostly because it doesn't have a skin yet lol) but also because on how pointless I think it is to release it at the moment.
So please don't beg someone to make something a New Species or thinking we will get many New Species in next time. We won't.
Well, then let's talk about people wanting help before trying anything before.
Some people just want help or report a bug which might be their fault, when they didn't try anything.
Sometimes, I can understand asking for help even tho you didn't try much, as long it isn't stupid or too often or something.
But most of the times people just ask dumb stuff like how do I install this.
There are tutorials on YouTube, there is a description in the mod, sometimes there is a readme which tells you how to install it, and then people ask why it doesn't work.
Best thing is, when they don't answer at all when the modder replies to it. One of the worst things, ngl.
Another small thing is when people ask when the mod comes out.
Just... Wait? The modder will release it, when it's done and when he thinks it can be released.
When you bother him, I'd understand if he delays it, because they are annoyed by these questions.
Anyway, let's hop to the next thing.
Next thing I want to talk about is regarding Bug reports.
Isn't as long as Mod Ideas, but I realized one thing, which is really annoying.
Many people just write in their Bugs inside the posts, rather then in the Bugs section of a mod.
Guys, please just, ehh ;-; Why would you report a bug in the Posts section, when there is a Bugs section in a mod, tell me.
AND THE BEST THING IS, IF SOMEONE REPORTS A BUG WHEN HE DOESN'T EVEN ANSWER IT ANYMORE XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
Please, when you report a bug, no matter if in the Posts or in the Bugs Section, r e p l y t o t h e m o d d e r i f h e d i d.
Last thing I can think about right now is a thing I realized.
I don't know why but I see a lot of people just writing in their native language, where I think like... Why?
This community speaks English, so we can all understand each other, the most people don't have English as their native language either.
And if you can't speak English really good then use a translator like DeepL Translator (which is the better Google Translator lol).
Ples spik Inglris.
Anyway that is probably the biggest wall of text I've ever wrote, and I hope I might actually change some things in the community.

Now though he is actually a good modder though.
Golly, I sure am glad that guy's gone.
Yeah I was a little fucker back then
PS. Welcome back to the community!
As for the 4 Scorpius rex mods. I can only see this as a good thing. Competition is good and people can just choose whatever they feel is the best quality version of the dinosaur that they want
Okay but Keine do you expect most people to read all of this?
Current "mod ideas" (really it's just people saying they want one creature without any actual ideas behind it) are crap.
