I recommend (as of Update 1.5.1) having all of the dlcs in case problems, or bugs arise.
This is a mod that I've been looking forward to change. Certain species such as sauropods and stegosaurids were done dirty in this game.
I wanted to change their appeal and their area need growth (originally called population needs).
What is appeal? It is the dinosaur's overall rating (not to be confused with dominance stats, which determines who is worthy
to become the alpha of the pack/herd due to their high dominance stats).
What is area need growth? It is the result of having more dinosaurs than the recommended social population. A Velociraptor has a minimum
social population of 2. Add more than 2 and they'll demand more forest, prey or meat, and water. Originally, Velociraptor has an area
need growth of 20%. To understand what I'm saying, go to this website: https://www.paleo.gg/games/jurassic-world-evolution-2/enclosure-planner
I was kind of hoping the game would explain all of this, but the tutorial aspect of this game is unbelievably bad.
What does this mod do? It does the following:
- All dinos have their appeal ratings boosted.
- Most of the dinosaurs' environmental needs have been slightly edited.
- All small herbivores, small carnivores, sauropods, and hadrosaurids have an area need growth of 10%.
- All stegosaurids have an area need growth of 20%, which is similar to the ceratopsids.
- All ankylosaurids have an area need growth of 40%.
- All medium carnivores (Including Allosaurus and Megalosaurus) have an area need growth of 40%. Indoraptor and Scorpios Rex both have 60%.
- Large carnivores (except Indominus Rex) have an area need growth of 100%. I find it odd that they have 125% or 150%, which makes them
demand more forest and feeders than having it simply at 100% due to their size.
- Some small and medium sized marine reptiles have an area need growth of 15%, 20%, and 30%.
- Large marine reptiles such as Kronosaurus and Tylosaurus have an area need growth of 100%. Mosasaurus remains unchanged.
- All pterosaurs (except Quetzalcoatlus) have an area need growth of 20%. Quetz has 40% to reflect its size.
- All dinosaurs have a genetic modification number of 30.
- Because of the intelligent trait giving an extra appeal rating of 20%, applying certain traits will also increase the appeal
rating of the dinosaur. These traits are the tolerant, social, humble, strong, defensive, and long-lived. They do not affect appeal if
negative.
- All dinosaurs have a maximum lifespan of 112.
- All dinosaurs have their max egg batch size. It is done to reflect completing the genomes to 100%.
- Applying the long-lived trait gives an extra 50%. The same applies for short-lived.
- Territory decay has been increased to start decaying at 10 minutes (or 600 seconds according to the game file). Before update 1.5, it took
5 minutes before decaying. The update made the territory to decay at two minutes, making dinos quickly uncomfortable. This was worse for the slow-moving dinos like the Indoraptor and
the ankylosaurids.
I cannot guarantee that I'll update this mod. It all depends on how busy I am.
How to install:
- Make sure you have cobra tools and python installed. Watch BestinSlot's video about JWE1 modding here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XtD2gFQTcmk). I suggest searching it in his channel.
- Open Main.ovl in the folder called content0.
- Wait for Main.ovl to open.
- Go to Edit then Inject and find c0dinosaurs.fdb
- Save Main.ovl and you're all good.
If you want to edit or change c0dinosaurs.fdb file, make sure you download SQLiteStudio.
