Fantastic mod! Almost want to get it, but 1993_A for Version A is so bad i have to revoke this mod. maybe another version (or update Version A) with Redux 1.0 1993 A, since that one is amazing
I know I'm asking a lot, but in a future release, could you make "Version C" with Offtherails777's Buck Animatronic? I'm using Version B right now. I love the original Rex and the Novel Rex and I hate to lose them, but that "turkey neck" on the Buck Animatronic! It's amazing!
In my sandbox right now, I'm using the JW Rexes as sub-adults and the RTJW Rexes as adults. The differing models give it a more realistic look.
Sure thing! I will try to upload that version later today. I agree that the Offtherails777 model is amazing and looks great on the skins you mentioned.
Would it be possible to take NikoRex's "Stan Winston" model and modify some of these skins into a JW version? There are very few JW Rex mods out there, and those that are, the skins are nowhere near this quality. I know that Gyrdra54 created the "ILM mod" with the original JW skins, but after seeing what could be, the originals (except basic) just aren't as good; especially when you have a sculpt that amazing,
What I'm asking for does not have to be film accurate, and I'm not asking for exact clones of the RTJP skins; I don't want you to worry about DLC violations. Could you take the original JWE basic skin and put a creamy underbelly on it like your RTJP 1997 skin? If so, would it be possible to do the same with the Wetland pattern, but more like in HammondsElephant's "Revamped Jurassic World T. rex" version than the original (with wide, dark stripes) with the belly of your 1997_A skin?
You can make the NikoRex model with the C version, I really like his model, but currently I have to use version_A, which takes away my favorite skin, which is the original 2001_A
Sure thing! So, I used the Cobra Tools suite to edit the fgm files. I did make some slight changes to the original png file that all the skin variants share (except the base 93 skin) to slightly darken the striping on the back and tidy up the pattern on the underside of the jaw. Since all the variants (except 93) use the same underlying png file for their texture, the fgm files control the coloration and shading for how that texture appears in game.
For versions A and B of the mod, I slightly desaturated the rather orange coloring and reddish hue of that same png file ["tyrannosaurus9301.pbasecolourtexture"] and made it more green in the appropriate areas on the back and face - this way, the "Buck" skin's green would really pop while I otherwise edited that variant toward more neutral and brown shading. For the other variants, I then just adjusted accordingly in the fgm files since they were going to look different with the new png edits. So, in the main, all the variants are primarily achieved through fgm editing. By leaving some fgms alone, or simply renaming them and injecting them back in the ovl file, you can leave some variants intact or rearrange their order. For instance, by renaming "tyrannosaurus93_variant4" (2001) to "tyrannosaurus93_variant2" (1997), and then injecting it back into the .ovl file, you would now have the 2001 skin in the 1997 slot. This is how you change around the order of the selection.
I'm thinking of making a youtube video about fgm editing the future, but I'm still far from an expert. The files are not always intuitive and there is a lot of trial and error. If you have questions or would like to know about something specific, feel free to send me a pm.

Personally, I like to use the JW Rex as a Doe and RTJP Rex as a Buck; or to go by novel canon, the JW as a sub-adult and the RTJW as an adult. The differing models give it a more realistic look.
I just got RJP a few days ago and didnt have any problems with the PDLC rexes. But I played with this mod and cant imagine going back. Really nice work with this
After trying them out I start to fall in love with it. Do you think its possible to do more recolors based on these?

Also can you also remodel the models to give them new designs similar to this?
