About this mod

(requires the Herbivore Dinosaur Pack to use, read the description before downloading or reporting issues) Adds Tsaagan, a dromaeosaur very closely related to Velociraptor, to the game.

Permissions and credits
(Note: This is an experimental dinosaur that both takes advantage of rig editing and - I cannot say for certain, some testing seems to imply this is not the case but bears mentioning - may extend the combat prowess of other dinosaurs with the Homalocephale rig. Known proper issues are reported at the bottom of this description.)

This mod adds a new dinosaur to the game: Tsaagan, a velociraptorine dromaeosaur that was both a contemporary and an extremely close relative of Velociraptor. It is something of an inverse of my Balaur: while that dinosaur uses the raptor rig for a docile herbivore, this dinosaur is a carnivore that uses the Homalocephale rig, and, though it doesn't stand much of a chance against anything but its basis without genetic modifications, it will gladly tango with pachycephalosaurs and small carnivores. That said, they're popcorn for anything bigger than a Herrerasaurus, and though I haven't personally observed this happening, there is a good chance that even small carnivores will prey upon them when given the chance.

Of all of the new species I have thus far released, Tsaagan is the easiest to unlock. It is one of the first dinosaurs that is available in a campaign run, unlocking on Isla Matanceros with no reputation or research required. It should be unlocked from the get-go in Jurassic World era Challenge Mode.

This mod requires the Herbivore Dinosaur Pack. To install, either drag/drop or copy/paste the 'TsaaganNanoL' folder to the following directory:
'steam\steamapps\common\Jurassic World Evolution\Win64\ovldata'
Do not rename the folder or any of the folders within, and do not put the folder in any of the folders already inside of ovldata. If you
get invisible icons and the Tsaagan doesn't come out of the hatchery, you either installed the mod wrong or you renamed a folder.

Known Issues
  • Being based off of the Homalocephale rig means that tsaagans don't quite look right when eating, especially when feeding from carcasses.
  • When being finished off in a fight against a small carnivore, tsaagans will, for the lack of a better way to put it, have episodes before dying. The animations small carnivores use while being killed by a tsaagan is also somewhat unusual.
  • When being airlifted, tsaagans' models will go a little crazy, and ragdolled tsaagans' limbs and necks will retract slightly. These are artifacts of the fact that rig editing was used during the creation of this dinosaur.
  • No blinking.

If you find any serious issues that aren't acknowledged above, please do report them; the more descriptive the reports the better, "game crashed please help" isn't something I can go off of very well.
