About this image

I am currently working on a new species: the Aucasaurus but I am having problems with textures.

The dinosaur color in the game doesn't appear as it does in blender.

Anyone know what is the problem?

In theory it should be a fgm problem: the fgm of the dino makes it appear darker than what it looks like on blendr or any other program, but i'm too lazy to explain now

I think i can help if you explain the whole process you made. only the skin editing part not the model.

      Thank you!

I imported the obj model into ArmorPaint i filled it with a color and then i added color details, then i exported the textures in 2k and in 8 bit.

I imported the map and the color textures into photopea for making them of 1024x1024 size and then i injected those 2 into my new species ovl.

wow... its really weird it should've worked i see you did everything all right, but just to be sure, the files you replaced are the "nameofdino.pbasediffusetexture" and "nameofdino01.basecolourtexture" right? but as you told me, you should've done that right so i think the problem is the base ovl itself, i think matcols, and variant fmg's are responsable of the colour. let me explain myself, imagine i wanna change the base JW Rex skin with DracoAgamicus prehistoric kingdom trex skin, but i also want the RTJP Rex to has the same PK skin so i changed it aswell but ingame the skin colouring of the JW Rex is the same as shown in the mod of DracoAgamicus but when i released the RTJP Rex with the new skin should be the same as the JW one right? but no. it has different colouring..... so anyways i think the base ovl you are using is the problem. How to fix that IDK sadly.

P.D1: Also looking back the 2 files that i said before need to be the same, by the same i mean, the same skin but with different names.
P.D2: Maybe you're realising the dino with another variant instead of the null (but i dont think this is the problem LoL)

I tried to fixing by also injecting the: "nameofdino01.basecolourtexture" but it didn't fix... also i tried reskinning the giganotosaurus it self but it give the same results... i think that the problem is using the Giganotosaurus as base model.

      Thank you againg btw.

Can't help with the textures but why are you not using Carnotaurus or Majungasaurus? They are all abelisaurids.

actually Aucasaurus were hella of small maybe using (i know is a meme by now) herrerasaurus? is bulky i think its animatios are great and if you get rid of the long arms and make them vestigial i would be nice looking.

    I use ArmorPaint for texturing.

But i think that the problem is the Giganotosaurus because texturing the Carcharodontosaurus in armorpaint works fine...

Not a modder so can't answer why or help in that regard, but if texturing works for the other dinosaurs I'd just suggest using a different one for the base until you've figured it out. Aucasaurus was only 6m long, I'd suggest trying to apply texture to Herrerasaurus or a similar sized dino and then edit their model if it works for one of them.

Thank you for replying! I think i'll trying using the Herrerasaurus or something similar as the base model as you said and redoing the textures from the beginning because i don't think that i can apply different dinosaurs textures on any model... also I thought that Aucasaurus was a lot bigger!!

I'd go so far as saying majungasaurus should be the base.

It's a medium sized carnivore and also an abelisaurid. You would just need to make sure to kind of flatten the head and getting rid of the horn and the bumpy skin on top the snout. Skull must be slightly longer and blocky.

You wouldn't even need to model a new body, since they are quite similar.
