This is basically archived for now. I'm working on a fix but the more I research, the more things I have to change to get things to work properly.
Basically, since this is in LUA - I can't override the items that the game already has baked in.
I can use the same ID but base code might unintentionally call for the original item (this is what broke weapon mods).

I'm currently working on separating the items themselves, modded items will start with a z in their internal ID.

We'll see if I can get this set-up.

in the meantime, feel free to make your edits and use my files. Modding is freedom and you are free to use my files as a base.

IF TARKOV WIPES NOW, I WILL BE GONE UNTIL I GET SICK OF IT AGAIN

-------------------Welcome, mercs. Grand Chien just got booted to the modern century.

Weapons rebalanced, new caliber(s)
what's new:
7.62x54R
5.45x39
SKS rifle
all scopes and optics give aiming buff
flashlight grants slight bonus aiming acc at 1st level aim

The aim here is to make everything more lethal while allowing for freedom of play.
PACK BANDAGES AND RESPECT ALL CALIBERS.
all ammo causes bleeding unless you are armored (ammo pen < armor level)

Each firearm using the same caliber should share the same damage, +/- 1-2 where I think a longer barrel would apply greater velocity etc.

Most firearms changed except for some quest weapons.
Interestingly, the base game gives the guns their armor penetration. This mod removes this from the guns and gives it to the ammo. Everything that uses calibers bigger than 9mm and .44 should have around the same pen as it used to.

You can make changes to the mod and store the files locally. But if you want to use my code for your mod, let me know.

I'm still working on balance, the snipers might feel gutted especially if that's your preferred playstyle. Maybe adding crit on headshots and increasing aim bonuses on snipers might balance it out.
