A bright and colorful ReShade preset!

Requirements
Permissions and credits
As it's said on the tin! There are a lot of awesome presets being passed around the community which are great for screenshots, but I wanted something that would work during gameplay. This is meant to sort of "stylize" the graphics of the game by brightening the colors and sharpening some textures. There are no motion blurs or DoF effects, so UI should remain relatively legible (though ambient light/bloom sometimes unavoidably bleeds over).

Depending on your client graphical settings and the machine you're playing on, you could have no performance impact, or might drop 2-5 FPS. I have not noticed any increase in memory-related crashes while using this preset, Istaria's client is notoriously unstable all on its own, so your mileage may vary.

For those who don't yet have ReShade, here are instructions:

  • Install Reshade from here https://reshade.me/#download (it will prompt you to select a game, but Istaria doesn't show up for me. You might need to manually browse for istaria.exe from wherever your root folder is located; Istaria will use DirectX 9. When it asks you which plugins to install, hit the button in the top right to "uncheck all" and then again to "check all" so you have all the required plugins for the preset)
  • Take the preset .ini file from this mod and plop it right there in your Istaria root folder (e.g. D:\Program Files\Istaria)
  • Open the Istaria launcher and go to Configuration, then tick the box for "Support DX Converter" (3rd from the bottom)
  • Launch the game (it may freeze for a minute while Reshade compiles for the first time)
  • Follow the Reshade tutorial if you want; once that's done, click the file name at the top (might say ReshadePreset.ini or something) and a dropdown will appear to your game's root folder. Select your preset from there
  • Make any adjustments you might like, then I highly recommend ticking the little box in the bottom left of Reshade for Performance Mode if you don't intend to make further changes
