Wield this power, and you shall cause terror upon the radius.
The UNPSC reported to have found an explorer just outside Kolkhoz to have written a note, describing him finding the greatsword in the far side of the Pechorsk castle, deep in the hellscape's water.
He assumably reached in the water to retrieve the sword, as his right arm was burnt up like it had been dipped in acid, the explorer couldnt be identified, and he couldnt make it far from the castle. His body was retrieved from on the train tracks in Kolkhoz.
The UNPSC couldn't transport the greatsword outside the zone for research, as it started to get pulled back like a magnet back toward the radius, only getting stronger the further it went away from it.
