Minor stealth tweak, reducing enemy FOV to somewhat more fun, practical levels.
Enemy FOV was 220-240, making sneaking somewhat non-viable, so I reduced that to something a little lower, fair and fun.

The main purpose for this mod is to make sneaking a little less frustrating.

Every time I tried to take a sneaky approach, enemies would snap towards me when I was approaching them from behind, just slightly off to their side because apparently their FOV is by default far higher than any normal human beings could possibly have.

A normal person cannot see what's going on directly at their sides if they look directly ahead. I know I can't, but my peripheral vision adds up to about close to 170 degrees. This is why I reduced enemy FOV from 220-240 to 150-180 degrees in general, depending on the enemy.

Sneaking is still difficult. You still get spotted very easily if you don't take your surroundings and so on into consideration, but things don't feel "unfair" anymore. It feels more rewarding.

This allows for more fun gameplay and less frustration when trying to sneak around.
Rejoice, no more mimics trolling you by suddenly snapping around and starting to attack you when you sneak up on them when they should have NO way of knowing you're behind them!

That doesn't mean sneaking has been made easy either. It is still a challenge, especially in open areas, when there are other enemies around.

Some enemies have had some slight tweaking to their hearing range too, but this is a mild change. It shouldn't really be noticeable.

Furthermore, I reduced the turning rate of enemies a very small bit, but once again, it's a small change and should also not really be too noticeable.

If you have found any bugs, please let me know. I will try to get them fixed as soon as I can!

Compatibility shouldn't really be an issue with other mods unless those mods directly tweaks NPCs

This mod is currently working with game version v2.3.2

List of changes:

  • Lowered enemy horizontal FOV from 220-240 down to 150-180 degrees.
  • Very slightly reduced some enemies' hearing range by about 5 meters.
  • Very slightly reduced enemy turning rate between idle movements.
  • Tweaked the distance some enemies will be able to see you from (lowered it by between 10 and 5 meters) to average it all out just a little.
