The main files are required for the optionals to work, the main files have 6 files inside 3 named zDragonOgryff_P which is all the functions and 3 named zDragonOgryffM_P which is the default dragon model, the 3 model variants have 3 files named zDragonOgryffM_P and just replace only the model file in the main files. (An easy way to see that you do not have the main files is that you will be stuck in t-pose without animations and your character wont be mounted correctly)
The Thestral variant is the same as above but you can choose to have it with or without the Hippogryff one, the Thestral files are zDragonOgryffT_P for the main files and zDragonOgryffTM_P for the models.
If experiencing any crashes please first check for mod conflicts by running the game with only the mod installed and seeing if you still experience the same issues. Make sure to make a manual save just before doing this to ensure no loss of anything involving the other mods after you revert back to using them.
For uninstalling Vortex doesn't seem to be removing the files correctly, open your base gone folder (In steam go to manage -> browse local files) put zDragonOgryff in the search bar and delete the mod files that it finds.
I installed both the main files and the ethreal version and got them working just fine (knock on wood so I don't jinx it). I had to reinstall the retex though, my guess is vortex installed the ethreal files before the main files because before it was working it just was the plain ridgeback dragon. All good now though, here's my load order for anyone interested:

The idea of this mod is amazing. But my game cant even load past the epilepsy warning or the shaders without completely crashing. Once i removed the mod, my game went back to normal and loaded quickly. Not exactly sure what conflicts with the mod either.
same, i think its broken, i moved all my mods and only loaded this one just to see if i had a conflict but it still crashed on launch, shame bc this is one of the better mods for the game
This mod worked great for me! <3 Do you think you could make a mod where its possible to change hypogriffs colors or Thestrals colors for mounts? I would have LOVED one of those mods <33
PLEASE consider doing an optional of the *normal black/metallic grey* ukranian ironbelly! (The one in the movie was elderly, sick, and dying) I would 100% use this more if you did. <3
I'd really like a response to this because I'm only getting the base dragon and not the other colors (i.e. Green welsh, etheral and the Hungarian horntail). I haven't seen a post on how to fix this so you can choose any of the 3 or 4 available. I tried to look in the game but I didn't see any option to change to the other types. I wanna fly a dragon but want variety. Unfortunately I may uninstall this until it's fix or people explain how to change the types.
Just a question, you installed the main files (thestral and/or hippogryph), then overwrote those files with whatever optional file you wanted? Is this correct? You can only have one optional file per main file installed. So, you can choose to have your hippogryph become a green welsh dragon, then have your thestral become a Hungarian horntail, but you cannot try to have your thestral become a green welsh dragon AND a hungarian horntail. The main files come with the Hebridean black model automatically, the optional files you pick OVERWRITE that model's files.
