Choose Your Own Adventure: Marrakesh

This is entry 2 in the Choose Your Adventure series, this time in Marrakesh. Will you work for terrorist organisation Crystal Dawn, or pro-democracy movement Arab Spring? And how will the choices you make along the way affect your final objective/s?

Updates:
1.1
(16-10-20)
  • All targets now show on Instinct, non-lethal targets will be removed from Instinct when you pacify them (So you can put them in containers while they're alive)
  • Mission names now show as "Choose Your Adventure" instead of unrelated Mission Story names
  • New Bug: Objectives now do not show as "Completed" on briefing screen, this is due to changing the mission type to "Featured Contract", which is not used to handling custom objectives

**THIS MISSION ONLY WORKS OFFLINE AND WILL REPLACE "A GILDED CAGE"**
To enter offline mode, simply press Enter (Or use your mouse to click "Cancel") when it pops up saying "Connecting..." on game launch. If you want to stay in offline mode every time you launch the game, go to Options>Privacy and click "Opt Out", you can return to online mode by pressing "Opt In" at any point. Or you can unplug your internet, too.

Features

Replaced Items
For story reasons I had to replace an item type, so it's not a bottle of vodka you're stealing from a safe. This means this mod is not compatible with any mod that replaces items (such as Rieper47's "Mk 2 Items Improved" mod). As a consolation prize I have replaced most Mk 2 items with things that don't have a stupid pink sticker on them. So keep an eye out for a Goldballer, Golden Sawed Off Bartoli, Radio, HackL 9R, Fusil X2000 Stealth, and the Ruby Red Sniper. This mod should still work fine if you have the Item Randomizer mod installed though since it doesn't replace items, just randomise them (However it won't work on this particular mission).

Questlines & Objective Choices
In this mission you'll make an initial choice to choose which faction you work for, then you'll have choices along the way for each objective on how to complete them. Which objective will you go after? Will you do the lethal choice or the non-lethal choice? Unlike CYA Sapienza, this time choices made in the middle of the mission will give you different final objectives (Overall there are 4 possible final objectives, instead of just 2). Please note that the Crystal Dawn questline does not offer a non-lethal path, you will have to kill a bunch of people one way or the other.

Capturing Targets

Some objectives will give you the ability to deal with a target non-lethally. To make sure a target is out of the way for the mission, or stashed for a retrieval team to take into custody later, just pacify the target and put them in any container. Due to the game not letting you put painted targets in containers while alive, these targets will not show up in Instinct (Think of them as Elusive targets).

Chaos Level

Chaos Level is back, and it still just keeps track of how many people (incl. crowd NPCs) you kill, whether they are targets or not. The lowest possible chaos level for the Crystal Dawn storyline is Medium, soz but IO didn't provide many choices in the map for me to work with for the terrorists. This Chaos Level does not affect gameplay or the mission.

Miscellaneous
Other objectives you may find yourself doing in this mission are: Killing spree, pacifying spree, laptop hacking, item collection

These aren't new to Hitman, but they aren't done in Contracts Mode, so hopefully they're fresh enough for you to have some fun

Future improvements?

Realistically the main improvement I'm hoping to make is finding a way to paint capture targets on Instinct, but have them un-paint as targets after you pacify them, so you can put them into containers alive. I've got no idea how to do this, hopefully I figure it out one day though.

Installation:

Place the files in Steam\steamapps\common\HITMAN2\Runtime and rename the .rpkg so it looks like this: "chunk0patchX.rpkg" with the X being the next consecutive number of what you have (i.e. if the most recent file you have is called chunk0patch4.rpkg, then call this chunk0patch5.rpkg etc.).
