About this mod
This is my attempt to recreate Jebus Cross from Heroes of Might and Magic 3, using default map generator. Template has it's flaws that can't be fixed, due to limitations of map generator. However, the template is still interesting and fun to play
- Permissions and credits
Jebus Cross is the most popular template in Heroes of Might and Magic 3: Horn of the Abyss. In Heroes 5 all templates look more or less the same: starting zone with one city. The zone has 2 roads which lead to opponents. All roads connect in circle. The end. Too boring. Where are Dragon Utopias? Where are relict artifacts? Where are treasure zones at all? There are none.
In my Jebus Cross template recreation you will have a starting zone with one city (standard map generator doesn't allow to put more in one zone). In total, there are 4 spawn zones. So, the template allows for 2-4 players to play one map. One road that leads to the "center zone". Unfortunately, "center zone" won't generate in the center of the map in 95% of cases. Again, it is not in my control - map generator decides randomly where to put zones. However, all roads still lead to that zone, so it is a center.
Rules
Same as on Jebus Cross in Heroes 3: you can't teleport to another zone if the guard to that zone is not defeated.
If you want to prevent AI from breaking this rule, you'll have to generate a map and then disable Astral Door spell completely. This is the only way to fix it. Also, it will make AI make turns faster.
Known problems
Sometimes, there won't be straight road from spawn to center, but a portal. Sorry, you're a bit unlucky in this case and you have to break twice. Map generator places roads and portals as it wishes - it can't be controlled and there is nothing I can do about it.
