Overview
The design of the default map and compass markers in Helldivers 2 are inaccurate and often almost completely obscure what is being marked on the map, making it more difficult to identify the marked terrain, structures and points of interest.
Better Map Markers was created to fix this. It contains a selection of custom-made map markers which were designed to provide clarity and enable accurate marking.

- Better Map Markers provides 16 custom-made map markers designed to provide clarity and enable accurate marking.

Circle Crosshair
- Provides the option to disable the spinning circle reticle used by weapons such as the Laser Cannon (LAS-98) and Quasar Cannon (LAS-99).
Nameplate Boxes
- Provides the options to disable player nameplate boxes to reduce the UI clutter obscuring your target, especially useful in situations when a squadmate is positioned behind your target.
Instructions
Simply download one mod variant of BMM and add the zipped folder in HD2ModManager, then choose a map marker design from the list of options.
This mod requires HD2 Mod Manager v1.2.0.1 or newer.

Troubleshooting
If you experience issues adding BMM to your HD2MM, your HD2MM may have entered a 'bad state'.
Please try the following:
- Remove all mods in HD2MM then purge.
- Open your Helldivers 2 data folder and confirm that there are no .patch files remaining there.
- Open Settings in HD2MM and copy and paste the Storage Directory path (its the second one listed) into the address bar of your file explorer.
- Close HD2MM.
- Delete the contents of the Helldivers2ModManager folder (the one you opened in step 3).
- Open HD2MM, add the BMM .zip package in HD2MM and deploy it.
To avoid this issue repeating when updating to a newer version, always
purge and remove the old versions of BMM from your HD2MM, then restart
HD2MM and add the new version.

Better Map Markers 2.0.0 release
- All configurations from previous packages are now available in a single package.
- A new UI has been implemented for BMM 2.0.0 in HD2MM to provide a preview of each map marker configuration option.
- Due to player feedback, added configuration options to have the circle crosshair enabled and nameplate boxes disabled.
