A space combat mod for Halo Reach with a focus on capital ships, with a lore-based approach (without being too one sided!). Featuring UNSC, Covenant, Banished and Flood vessels!

Welcome to Halo Reach: Slipspace, ensign! This is an asymmetric, lore-friendly space combat mod, and a sincere labour of love. If you've ever wanted to live out the space battles mentioned in the games and detailed in the novels, this is the mod for you! 

This mod focuses mainly on capital ship combat, but it also includes strike craft for the Covenant and UNSC. The weaponry and capabilities of the vessels are based on the descriptions found in Eric Nylund's novels. As such, Covenant ships are far superior to their UNSC counterparts, however the larger vessels require mutliple players to be fully effective, ensuring that the UNSC possess a numerical advantage. This reflects the lore, where the UNSC required a three-to-one numerical advantage to have an even chance of defeating the Covenant in space. For obvious reasons, it isn't quite that extreme in this mod for player enjoyment.

>HOW IT WORKS - PLEASE READ BEFORE DOWNLOADING<
This mod replaces the map Highlands (called trainingpreserve.map in the files). I recommend creating a backup of the original map file before overwriting it with this one.

Any .bin files should be placed in your Game Variants folder, and .mvar files should be placed in your map variants folder. These are found at the following location for the Steam version;

C:\Users\(username)\LocalLow\MCC\LocalFiles\(ID number)\HaloReach

Make sure to launch the game with ANTI-CHEAT DISABLED.

Included in the download are three gametypes, and five map variants so you can start hosting custom games right away! You can of course create your own maps in forge. There are quite a few caveats to this mod, however, so make sure to keep the following in mind;

- The only gametypes confirmed to be supported are King of the Hill, VIP (included in download) and Infection. Any other game type may have issues.

- Due to injection issues, the forge palette is limited to the various ships and fighters in this mod, spawn objects, and objective objects.

- Due to injection issues, ELITES DO NOT WORK, you must set Preferred Species to Spartan to play this map.

- To pilot the UNSC ships, find the Sabre within the ship model. To pilot Covenant ships, find the Longsword inside the Corvette, or on larger vessels find the large chair between two Ghosts (the ghosts are the entry points for the gunner positions on these ships).

- When playing Fleetmaster (the VIP mode), make sure the VIP pilots the ship, as destroying the ship while the VIP is in a gunner seat will not count as a VIP kill!

- If you get into the pilot seat of a Covenant ship with gunner seats, make sure to pull back on the left thumbstick or hold the S key to remain stationary so that other players can enter the gunner seats.

- This mod isn't fully complete yet, as such there may be some things that don't work correctly, although I feel the mod is stable and consistent enough to warrant releasing. The Containment Ultra-Sentinel has been, for now, removed.
