Halo: The Master Chief Collection

About this mod

Enjoy the original and truthfully experience of Halo trilogy exactly as Bungie expected at the beginning, fixing and adding all the cut content, typos and all the ideas that were supposed to be at the end, but finally they were not because hardware limitations, test team fails or rushed times.

Bungie Restoration Project is a difficult but complete recreation of Halo CE, Halo 2, Halo 3 and Halo 3: ODST games as they were supposed to be originally. All this content was cut, remade, changed or even not added in the final release, all because the games needed to be ready by difficult dates, the hardware at the time wasn't capable or they were  limited by CD memory, making the great Halo experience you’ve played an incomplete one.

Here is where Bungie Restoration Project comes in to restore and add all the content that was supposed to be from the beginning.
(Or at least, do the best we can with the information we have)
From fixing typographical errors with wrong armor permutations (like the Halo 3 elites in Floodgate), add cut content (like the Halo 2 High Charity Warthog run with Juggernaut flood), to fix wrong bipeds, characters, scripts or the infamous Halo Ce “shader_transparent_generic”.
BRP plans to add and correct all those things, improving the games to their original status and ideas. That’s why BRP is divided in three major versions. Each one will bring all the content in stages, working with the actual editing tools for Halo and the updates of Halo Master Chief Collection.

 BRP V.1 :
Fix typos, bipeds, characters and add basic content that was intended to be (plus a few extras), but unable of develop because Microsoft Rushed Bungie’s team, Test team fails or Hardware limitations with Xbox 360 (and wrong ports to pc made by Gearbox).

BRP V.2:
As the editing and modding tools for Halo grow, BRP will take advantage and go further , fixing major problems, scripts, and broken code. This includes all the content of the previous V1 and possible secondary bugs, making it ready for the final stage.

BRP V.3: After the last game is released for Halo MCC, and with better editing tools, BRP will proceed to add the final sections of cut content, with their scripts, cutscenes, cut dialogs, etc. This will be the last intended version, returning all the original games to their original idea. This includes a final bug revision of the 2 previous versions.

With this plan in mind, Bungie Restoration Project wants to bring back the ORIGINAL HALO EXPERIENCE, and not modify Single Player breaking the Lore, the Gameplay or whatever aspect of Halo. This will ONLY bring back original ideas which were supposed to be there in the first place, but Bungie couldn’t put them due to time or limitations.

This is NOT a complete change of all Halo Games. A few levels you will play have no changes at all, because those levels were ported as they were intended originally. And not all the maps will have changes. Don’t expect a totally redone experience of this. Only the real one that Bungie wanted to give you. Some missions have a lot of changes. Others few. Others none.
But at the end, BRP it's doing all of this for you, fellow player. Because we are part of the same community. Because we are a family.

With Great Love
Bungie Restoration Project

 1. Go to the Drive where you have your game (usually C:\steam\steamapps\common\Halo The Master Chief Collection\halo3\maps) and copy all the maps as backup.
(For Halo 2 is: C:\steam\steamapps\common\Halo The Master Chief Collection\halo2\h2_maps_win64_dx11)
2. Extract the contents of the downloaded file straight into the same place.
3. Enjoy the original Campaign that Bungie had nearly finish, but Microsoft push it back with its rush.

Why support us, you may ask?

Well, while this Project is free for all and never we will ask money for this (because you can download this without pay) the truth is we are spending a lot of resources in this, coding and even scripting things in a game that is heavily difficult because now we don’t have the source code and propper tools. Maybe if 343 give to us the source we could go faster, but is something that will not happen.
We have our own life too, thats why if you like this Project, your patreon support will be great for put more time into this. All donations will be DIRECTLY destinated to this project. More money, more resources, more time, more focus on this.
But is something that don’t depend of me, us or no one, only to you. If you like the job and want to support this Project, it’s on your hands.

Feel free. Give or not. BRP will go on. And you will have this free always.
