CURRENTLY BROKEN DUE TO HALO 3 UPDATE - THIS MOD WILL BE PLAYABLE AGAIN WHEN A PATCH / CONVERSION TOOL IS RELEASED v1.0 - Adds more Flood and more Covenant to High Charity, increases Flood Carrier dispersal, vastly improves the Shotgun to make it more like its Halo CE counterpart and much more!

Welcome to High Charity - Day of the Flood. This mod attempts to both improve the pacing of the final Chief mission of Halo 2, particularly on higher difficulties, whilst also increases the emphasis on the Flood invasion. Flood forms are now more numerous and Carrier Forms in particular will now disperse a huge number of Infection Forms upon destruction. Covenant forces have also been increased, but even with increased numbers the Brute forces are often overwhelmed by the endless tide of Flood forms. 

To counter this, the pitiful Halo 2 Shotgun has been enhanced (for one level only!) to not only feature an increase in number of projectiles and maximum ammo capacity to make it more akin to its Halo CE counterpart, but also to include the Shotgun as a whole third weapon. That's right, you can pick up the Shotgun alongside your other two weapons, and once you pick it up you won't be able to put it down. Literally. This comes in handy for carrying the Shotgun and another weapon as your main two armaments, plus a backup such as a Rocket Launcher or Energy Sword for emergencies.

As this mission is only short, there were limited options for mixing up combat encounters, and for the Standard Edition at least there was no possibility of adding allies to the mission. This mod will receive updates soon with more editions, but further experimentation is needed to get Elites working in the level. Until then, enjoy the Standard Edition of High Charity - Day of the Flood!

List of Changes

- Improved the Shotgun by increasing the number of pellets per shot and ammo capacity to be the same as in Halo: CE
- Added the ability to carry the Shotgun as a third weapon that cannot be swapped out once it has been picked up
- Slightly decreased the health and shields of Flood Combat Forms so they are now killed with one direct shot of the Shotgun at close range
- Slightly decreased the health of Brutes to account for the fact that they have been fighting for hours
- Increased the amount of Infection Forms that are released when a Carrier Form explodes
- Added more Covenant soldiers throughout the level, particularly Grunts
- Added more Flood forms throughout the levels, particularly Carriers
- Increased the number of Drones in the long-range sniper section to encourage players to pick them off from range
- Added the ability for Drones to wield Brute Plasma Rifles
- Altered the sound of the active camo recharge so that those using the Envy skull can actually hear the sound during heated encounters

Installation Instructions

- Installing this mod is simple. Navigate to the root folder for Halo: The Master Chief Collection - usually in Program Files > Steam > steamapps > common, and go to the folder called 'halo 2'
- From there, open the folder called h2_maps_win64_dx11 - this contains all of the map files for Halo 2
- Next, BACK UP THESE FILES if you haven't already, just in case
- Then simply move the forerunnership.map file that is this mod to replace the one in the maps file, and play Halo: MCC with Anti-Cheat disabled
- Now boot up the mission High Charity on the difficulty of your choice, using whichever Skull modifiers you like.
