Welcome to Uprising Evolved v1.3!

This mod is designed to make the level Uprising feel like a true uprising - the Covenant has splintered, as the Brutes have turned on the Elites and any soldiers in the Covenant military who support them. Chaos now reigns on the surface of Installation 05 as Brutes run rampant, attacking Elites and their allies. Unlike the original mission, which split the Covenant forces into allied Elites and Grunts against enemy Brutes, Jackals and Drones, Uprising Evolved aims to enhance the feeling of the chaos of the Great Schism by greatly diversifying the allies and enemies you will encounter in the mission, and greatly increasing the number of allies and enemies to make a true war - you can storm through the facility amassing a hoard of allies to crush the Brutes like never before!

The version 1.3 update is now live, this version of the mod is - for now at least - the definitive 'final' version. I will be uploading more Editions to Uprising Evolved later on down the line, but unless any major bugs appear this is going to be the last update for Uprising Evolved for a while. This edition aims to streamline the experience by settling for a middle ground between ally numbers and effectiveness. There is also more of  random element to the AI spawns as in the original version of this mod, so each time you play the level your starting allies - as well as the ones that join you later - will differ slightly.

This update also comes with a host of other tweaks, such as slight alterations to the Elite rank colours in Classic graphics that differ from 1.2 and 1.2.1, standardised weapons for ally and enemy Jackals to assist in identifying them from range, automated AI on the turrets of the Wraith that target enemy infantry when used by the player, more opportunities for allied Hunters and Drones and much more.

As the Arbiter, you have been tasked by the Gravemind - a powerful Flood Hive Mind currently in control of Installation 05 - to prevent the firing of the ring and the destruction of all life in the Galaxy, and to do that you must take the Index from the Brute Chieftain Tartarus. Using its immense power, the Gravemind has teleported you onto a cliffside right in the middle of the Great Schism.

The Prophets have betrayed the Elites and ordered their new enforcers, the Brutes, to slaughter any and all Elites currently residing on High Charity and Installation 05. Many of the Elite members of the High Council have already been murdered, and the Brutes have replaced the Elites as the primary warriors of the Covenant Empire.

This is the fray into which you have been dropped. Fortunately for the Arbiter, Installation 05 is currently host to a variety of surviving Elite Warlords, including several members of the High Council, the Honour Guard, the Spec Ops Division, the Stealth Corps and even more obscure groups like the Silent Shadow and the Lights of Sanghelios.

Though many Elites have been killed, some of the most skilled among their number yet live. These Elites are currently scattered and leaderless, hiding in what camps they can scrounge together amid the chaos as Brute hunting parties scour the area.

Your task is to rendezvous with nearby Elite forces, gather the remaining Grunts, Jackals and other Covenant races that are still loyal to you and take revenge on the traitorous Brutes who have slaughtered so many of your Sangheili brothers.

The journey ahead follows a familiar path, but there are many surprises waiting along the way. You will be aided by powerful allies, including some of the greatest warriors in the Covenant, but your foes are tenacious and rumour has it that the Bastion of the Brutes is guarded by one of the sons of Tartarus, who now holds the position of Honour Guard Packmaster.

The key element of this mod is replayability - the existing triggers and variations in ally spawns from the original level have been modified and expanded on in numerous ways - where once a single Grunt would spawn, now there is a lance of Grunts and Jackals awaiting your command.

You will be aided by a small number of Minor and Major Elites, as well as some powerful commanders and specialists, and as the level progresses your forces will be bolstered by randomly-selected allies of varying races, ranks and dispositions.

I recommend trying different playthroughs on varying difficulties, and using Skull modifiers will also enhance the experience. Enjoy experiencing this iconic level in a whole new way!

UPRISING EVOLVED EDITIONS

Customisation has always been a key factor in Halo's identity, so this mod should be no different. There are various optional files containing different 'Editions' of Uprising Evolved, each one changing a fundamental aspect of the level for more variety.

Uprising Evolved: No Ally Buffs
The simplest variation, all this mod does is remove the health and shield buffs to allies in order to make them more reliant on the player intervening to help them. To compensate, allies are far more numerous.

Uprising Evolved: Mythic Edition
More challenging than No Ally Buffs, the Mythic Edition decreases the amount of damage that allies do on Legendary. Your allies are strong and numerous  but they do far less damage.

Uprising Evolved: Chaos Edition
Chaotic, with more allies and enemies, guaranteed rare Elite spawns in every playthrough, and more wacky Elite armour designs in Classic Graphics. Your allies are strong, numerous and deal lots of damage. Stand back and watch as your allies annihilate the Brutes!

Uprising Evolved: Gruntpocalypse
Most allies in the level are now Grunts. The only notable exceptions are the initial Spec Ops Elites and the Elites that drop from drop-pods. Other than that, it's just you and a legion of Balaho's finest.

v1.2 CHANGES
