About this mod

This mod is a complete overhaul for H4 that mixes classic and reclaimer assets, this includes everything from new additions and tweaks to the existing sandbox, new damage types, ammo drops for enemies, new hud, various ai tweaks, new enemies, new wildlife and boss fight encounters.

Backing up the vanilla maps
First, locate your maps folder under "Steam\steamapps\common\Halo The Master Chief Collection\halo4\maps". Make a backup of all the maps so that you can always revert to the default maps.
There's no need to back up the sound files for H4
In the "halo4" folder is my own sound folder labeled "H4MO" so once you extract the "halo4" folder to your MCC directory it'll be exactly where it needs to be.
Installing the mod
This last part is pretty simple, in your "Halo The Master Chief Collection" folder just drag the "halo4" folder from the mod into your game's folder and replace all of the files.


Alright, so I didn't exactly keep documentation of every little change like I did for my other mods so I'll do my best to summarize features in the mod.

Global Changes & Additions
  • Added kinetic, armor-piercing, explosive, fire, plasma, blamite, radiation, and hardlight damage types that each do different damage to different surfaces
  • Changed weapon pickup strings to reflect the new damage types for each weapon
  • Buffed emp damage
  • Added UNSC ammo packs to various levels
  • Covenant enemies now drop covenant ammo packs
  • Promethean enemies now drop forerunner ammo packs
  • Added a healthbar to the player hud
  • All weapon magazines now display a number value in the hud
  • Reduced bloom globally and allow weapons to have zero bloom if crouched

Weapon Changes & Additions
  • The vanilla sandbox has had a massive rework to keep it on par with the newly added weapons and damage types
  • Promethean weapons for the most part have new alt fire modes or alt uses (e.g., scattershot has a grenade launcher and the boltshot can send things and yourself flying with the charged shot)
  • Frag grenade has a little bit more range
  • Plasma grenade has a slightly longer charge but does more damage
  • Pulse grenade has been changed into a splinter grenade and can emp now
  • Added a UNSC stun grenade
  • Added the brute spike grenade
  • Added the firebomb
  • Added the H2A brute plasma rifle
  • Added the H2A bruteshot
  • Added the H2A Magnum
  • Added the H2A SMG and Silenced SMG
  • Added a usable Knight Sword
  • Added various throwable fusion coils
  • Added the Automag
  • Added the H3 Mauler
  • Added a CE Magnum
  • Added a CE Assault Rifle
  • Added an Infinite Assault Rifle
  • Added the Reach DMR

Equipment Changes & Additions
  • Thrust keeps you in first-person and behaves like H5's thrust
  • Camo keeps you hidden for longer and I removed the false radar pings
  • Hardlight shield no longer has a movement penalty at the cost of being shot out of it now
  • Slightly buffed auto turrets damage and firerate
  • Added a health regen armor ability
  • Added a dropshield armor ability
  • Added a Promethean teleport armor ability

Character Changes & Additions
  • Added climb and check friend behaviors for various enemies
  • Added equipment for various enemies
  • Covenant enemies will now have two versions of characters, the reclaimer h4 models with slight changes and the classic era models
  • Reclaimer characters are more aggressive and classic characters will play more defensively
  • Added h5 Promethean Knights and changed ranked colors to make them more distinct
  • Added Promethean Soldiers
  • Added Promethean Sentinels
  • Friendly sentinels now use the Infinite sentinel model
  • Added engineers
  • Added drones
  • Added brutes
  • Added skirmishers
  • Added reach grunts
  • Added h5 grunts
  • Added reach elites
  • Added reach hunters
  • Added reach jackals
  • Added reach marines
  • Added an elite boss fight
  • Added a silent shadow boss fight

Vehicle Changes & Additions
  • All vehicles now display a healthbar in the hud
  • Various vehicles have had their gravity, mass, and speeds adjusted
  • Mixed H2A shaders in for some vehicles
  • Replaced some effects for their H2A counterparts because they look a little better

Misc Changes & Additions
  • Added wildlife to requiem
  • Added the infamous h3 rat
  • Added the h3 quadwing
  • Added various reach birds
  • Added reach fish
  • Added a penguin
  • Added h3 butterfly
  • Added the cut reach squirrel
