About this mod
A gametype that lets you clip beyond level boundaries, spawn weapons and vehicles, place invisible platforms and pose dummies, and even change your player model size. Meant for helping you take cool screenshots out-of-bounds. EAC-compatible.
- Permissions and credits
Screenshot Studio allows you to teleport through walls and level boundaries, spawn items, alter your character model's size, and more. You can switch between playing as your normal character and playing as a Forge Monitor, and while in the latter form, you can access a radial menu with all of the mod's options. This mod is a gametype, available in the Custom Games lobby, and works even with EAC on.
Features
- While playing as your normal character model, double-tap your Armor Ability to become a Forge Monitor
- While playing as a Forge Monitor, double-tap your Armor Ability to teleport forward, swap weapons to return to your character model, or hold the weapon pickup button to open a radial menu. With the menu open, double-tap your Armor Ability to select an option.
- You can replace your character model's weapon with any weapon available on the current map.
- Your can spawn any vehicle available on the current map.
- On supported maps, you can spawn an invisible platform -- perfect for standing on top of non-solid scenery outside the level boundaries. You can rotate this platform in 15-degree increments along the yaw and roll axes.
- You can set a marked location, and then recall to that location any time. You can also reset your position to inside the map.
- You can spawn a Test Biped -- a Spartan or Elite, depending on your preferred species in-game. This can be helpful for maintaining a sense of scale and testing out potential screenshot locations and angles, when flying around out of bounds. You can rotate the Test Biped in 15-degree increments, or delete it from the map.
- You can change your character model's size. These changes also apply to your Test Biped, making for a useful preview.
- You can change your Forge Monitor's teleport distance to a massive value, making it easier to navigate maps with larger skyboxes.
- You can change your hidden platform's size to 3x3.
Notes
- This gametype requires engine-level features that were added to the Master Chief Collection version of Halo: Reach in mid-July 2023.
- When playing as a Forge Monitor, you are equipped with an invisible Focus Rifle. This is a useful tool when out of bounds: you can fire it at surfaces to see if they're actually solid.
- The hidden platform feature is only available on maps that support the "Block 1x1, Flat" Forge object. For official maps, these are Anchor 9, Forge World, High Noon, Ridgeline, Solitary, and Tempest. On maps where the feature is unavailable, it'll be greyed out in the menu.
- Vehicles will be greyed out in the menu if they aren't supported on the current map.
- Weapons will be greyed out in the menu if they aren't supported on the current map. All weapons except for the Target Locator should be available on all maps.
- You may be unable to open the menu when pressed directly against a solid wall. This is because opening the menu involves picking up an invisible bomb (as in, Assault), and in these situations the bomb is on the other side of the wall.
- Some out-of-bounds areas in Sword Base may prevent you from opening the menu. Swapping bipeds in these areas may also cause you to lose your Armor Ability and thus the ability to teleport to safety; the gametype will detect this and forcibly reset you to a safe position after a short delay.
- The gametype's code would, theoretically, support multiplayer. Only singleplayer has been tested.
