1:1-ish Conversion of H2's Cairo Station into H3. Why? Because I can!
Almost exactly 1 year in the making!
Features:
- Entire mission playable start to finish
- Map is now a single BSP, meaning no loading between areas
- Rewritten nearly 2400 lines of mission scripting by hand to make sure it plays well in H3
- Opened previously inaccessible areas
- Completely re-engineered shaders for H3 for all surfaces
- All objects ported
- Sounds ported
- H2 enemies
- More advanced Elite AI
- Extra detailing in some areas
- Altered intro sequence to contain elevator and tram ride from The Armory H2 tutorial mission
- Exploration mode once the mission has ended - all doors unlocked and bi-directional elevator scripting!
- Stupid easter egg to find (those in the Halo Mods discord will know what it is)
- There's far too much stuff to list here, but you get it, its everything from Cairo Station in Halo 3!
Installation:
- Download the .zip
- Navigate to your MCC install in file explorer
- Extract the "bink" folder from the zip into "Halo The Master Chief Collection/halo3"
- Navigate to "Halo The Master Chief Collection/halo3/fmod/pc"
- Make backups of your "english.fsb", "english.fsb.info", "sfx.fsb" and "sfx.fsb.info" files
- Replace with those included in the fmod folder in the zip
- Navigate to "Halo The Master Chief Collection/halo3/maps"
- Make a backup of you "040_voi.map" file
- Replace it with the one included in the maps folder in the zip
- Done! Load up MCC with anticheat off and launch The Storm in Halo 3
Additional information/Known Issues (PLEASE READ!):
- ATTENTION - MCC will probably crash if the outro cutscene is allowed to play all the way to the end. I am unable to find the cause of this, so please make sure to skip using Escape/Start before the cutscene finishes
- Recommended difficulty is heroic - may not be well balanced for other difficulties
- It may well be possible to break the scripting, but not easily through normal play
- Cutscenes are washed out and low res - this is unfortunately a H3 MCC bug
- Untested on co-op
- Ranger (flying) elites may be erratic/get stuck occasionally
- Audio environments are missing, unfortunately the clusters aren't working correctly so I can't add these sounds properly
- Lighting on cargo elevator exterior window has weird shading when viewed at certain angles from outside
- If you think the map is too dark/are playing in a bright area, bump your MCC "gamma" setting up to 5.5
