THIS IS MORE OF A TECH DEMO THAN A PLAYABLE LEVEL

I just got my new PC and its a beast, I'm super excited to explore its limits and heard something about a new Halo coming out soon ... but I don't wanna get distracted by its glory and let this project gather rust; thus I'm releasing what I have put together so far and perhaps I can get some feedback.

Been working on this project for the last month, now I have a pretty good handle on the tools again (this is my third time modding a version of Halo 2) and 343 released an update that fixed a lot of the crashing in Sapien and sped up some of the scenario loading as well, now is a great time to mod Halo.


FEATURES
-You start near the ocean fighting alongside a squad of marines including Johnson in a Scorpion tank, for now Johnson is set to invincible.

-Your jet pack has 5 bursts (combined over time if you hold the jump button) before needing a quick recharge, there are sound cues to make this pretty obvious. Still need to tweak the jet packs lights/fx but overall I'm happy with how it looks/works.

-Eventually I'd like to make it so you have to find the jet pack then explore elevated positions for intel, to find someone, or to call in help. Currently objectives are not working in the H2EK nor is on screen text so yeah.

-The ODST have unique faces with a small chance of receiving a helmet. Female ODST with helmets and a new variant (three faces) I made using the female marine biped.

-Seven 14 Spartans with 2 alternate sets of unique weapons, currently they all have limited jet packs as well. One Spartan spawns at a time.

-One female ODST gunner who has orders to stay on her Gausshog and flip it back over if necessary.

-One Marine that will lay down a turret and fire it, although he is a bit dyslexic ... thats a feature so deal with it.

-One Marine gunner that gets on a different turret.

-One Elite gunner who mans the rarely seen Cov Guntower, this massive turret can be devastating.

-Vehicles scripted to drive around a bit, not always the same outcome but some vehicles being destroyed will lead to others being spawned.

-Right now the Spartan is ordered to follow you if possible, this could lead to BS, needs more testing.

-Death from above and other directions.

-Pelican and Phantom that come to drop off support troops when necessary.

-Some ODST respawn inside of a crashing HEV, still needs work and is only setup to happen a few times for now.

-Weapon additions: Halo CE Pistol, Halo CE Assault Rifle, Halo Reach DMR, Halo 2 GPMG (needs work, its a pretty decent heavy machine gun), Halo 2 BRG, Halo 3 Missile Pod, might be a few I forgot about ...

-Various Marine character traits: Helmet, no Helmet, Johnson's hat, Halo CE HUD, Comm Pack, Pilot helmet.

-Alpha, Beta, and center stage respawners for the main Cov enemies where they are dropped down from various Cov spacecraft including the Capital ship.

-Flying enemies including Elite Rangers and Buggers.

-Added dual-wielding to more Elites.

-Altered some of the AI to be more aggressive and accurate (based on rank).

-Brutes can now use more Human weapons (Rox, BR, AR) and the Flak Cannon. These modified Brute weapons cannot be picked up by the player to avoid BS. They have a really large jump, reduced berserking, & throw less nades to encourage them to shoot more often. They might also be equipped with an SMG or (of course) a Shotty.

-Scorpion tank AI can now shoot the main cannon OR the chaingun (less chance of chaingun usage). Not sure if the tank is firing when driving, need to figure out if that is possible.

-Retreating Spartans fall back to the BRG, a Battle Rifle with a grenade launcher (not a new model but a different scope & numbers). The BRG can be used by player, hold/charge to fire it, yeah its a little glitchy because it shoots a three bullets as well as a single grenade, but the Spartan AI knows what to do with it so its stays for now.

-Retreating ODST fall back to the OG Pistol. ODST have a major buff to health and abilities, they are far more athletic.

-All characters (and some vehicles/weapons) have increased LOD and cannot die from fall damage.

-Semi-randomized explosion FX overhead. Might add more scenery vehicles later on.

-The one way Teleporter works but its a little slow, need to try a different method.

-There is an invisible shark in the water that will kill you because your fat ass is too heavy to swim.

-Raised the sky kill triggers.

-There is a good deal of the level that is still pretty empty, again this is a work in progress.


INSTALLATION
Extract the map with https://www.7-zip.org/download.html

-In Steam, locate Halo MCC in the games list, right-click on it & navigate to Manage then Browse local files.
-Enter the halo2 folder, then h2_maps_win64_dx11
-Backup and replace 00a_introduction.map
-Don't forget to start the game with Anti-Cheat Disabled (the second option when you load the game).
-Load the first campaign level to play.
