About this mod

Human VS Flood AI Battle set in the valley on Sandtrap, including a functioning Pelican dropship for the humans, and a Flood Carrier that flies in the drop flood dispersal pods into the battle!
Also, 4 Elites get dropped in via elite drop pods!
Bonus feature - the ability to be placed into a pelican and carried directly into battle

This is not a modder's resource, but I am happy to provide examples of the scripting used to help others

IMPORTANT
 
- You must change team to Blue Team to have the Marines fight with you!
 - You MUST play as a spartan! Playing as elites is not (yet) supported and will black screen!

ALSO IMPORTANT - This map works both in custom games and forge - forge includes the pelican and phantom as a extra spawnable vehicles

How to Play:

  • Load up either a custom game or forge game on Sandtrap - make sure you change to Blue Team to have the Marines fight with you
  • Locate the two button panels on top of one of the structures near the valley (see the images)
  • The button panel furthest from the edge allows you to select whether to be spawned into the Pelican to be dropped in at the start or not - holding E to activate it will tell the game you want to be spawned in the pelican. Simply don't activate this panel if you want to stay on the ground.
  • The button panel closest to the edge initiates the battle - activate it, and after a few seconds the dropship and flood carrier shall appear and begin the battle!

Feature List:

  • Medium-scale AI Battle between a human Marine task force, and the Flood
  • Fully working Pelican dropship that deploys additional troops to the battle when the previous wave have died
  • Fully functional Elite drop pods that are used to respawn 4 Elite AI
  • Flood Carrier jumps into the fight from slipspace, flies overhead, and starts dropping lots of flood dispersal pods to spawn the flood AI!
  • Pelican also deploys a mongoose with marines - the marine has passed his driver's test and can actually drive the 'goose around
  • Pelican spawns out of the human frigate that hangs over the map, for that extra immersive feel
  • Ability to choose whether you want to be placed into the passenger seat of the Pelican dropship at the beginning of the game - you are not teleported back into the pelican when the troops respawn on the pelican so as to not take you out of the middle of a fight!
  • The battle between the AIs should be fairly balanced without any player help - sometimes a sneaky flood infection form can hide though, so you may need to help out!

Additional Info/Known Issues/Things being worked on:
  • Time between troop reinforcements - I am looking into a way to reduce this but because of how the squad scripting works I cannot simply start reinforcements spawning when there are 3 or less ODSTs/covenant instead of 0
  • Elites infected by flood infection forms seem to have no team - resulting in other flood attempting to attack the infected elites, but cannot deal any damage to them
  • Elite Drop Pods are not all removed after they have been used - there is a volume around them that should remove them before the next wave, but to the surprise and dismay of myself and other modders, for no reason it seems to only have a 50-75% success rate. If you know how to fix this, please contact me on discord
  • There is no guarantee the battle won't get stuck every now and then due to particularly sneaky/stubborn enemies on one side - you may need to jump in to help kill the remaining AI on one team, or simply restart the round. AI are by nature completely unpredictable and their movements/fights are not scripted! Anything can happen!
