This mappack has 19 maps for Halo: Combat Evolved multiplayer on MCC. 4 maps are from haloce3.com, 2 from opencarnage.net, and the remaining 13 from halomaps.org. Currently works with MCC Season 8. A sniper HUD glitch is present on map 17. Olympus Mons, due to MCC season 8 tags & scripts issues.

BTB Map Pack for MCC

These maps have been chosen because of their popularity and viability for competitive play. There are at least 6 maps with secret rooms/easter eggs, see if you can find them. Download the modpack to use with the MCC Mod Manager for a more seamless way to add the files which display the correct map names and thumbnails (as seen in the image below).

December 2021: Add 3rd person view for warthog passenger on all maps. Not updated yet.

We're here. Medium large S-shaped map with 2 bridges with snipers that flank a central rocket light bridge. CTF focused. A hog & ghost at each base. 10-16 players.

Hemoasis by PopeTX28

Blood is not enough... A $ shaped map with tunnels through the middle, 2 central bases and an overpass. The new Blood Gulch. 2 hogs, a rocket hog, a ghost, banshee, & scorpion at each base. 10-16 players.

Snowtorn Grove by Arteen

A snowy horseshoe map, lots of vehicles, teleporters, bridges & tunnels, a series a small bases mid-map that spawn a banshee & scorpion. And 2 hogs, a rocket hog, & a ghost at each base. 12-16 players.

10k Halo by PopeTX28

The guardians forged in secret this structure on installation 04, using a mere 10k world assets. A slight Hang 'em High feel with the catwalks around the middle of the map. Quite a nature walk, and multiple vehicle routes as well. 2 hogs, a rocket hog & ghost at each base with a scorpion in the central tunnels. 10-16 players.

Alpine by Conscars

A huge beautifully detailed map set in a deep canyon full of hilly terrain, water ways, mountainous passages and vehicle bases. This ambitious map is full of surprises, dead and alive. Both hog types, a ghost & banshee at each base. 12-16 players.

Ancient Sanctuary by PopeTX28

Head to head bases in an old forest, additional structures that house power ups, with 1 ghost, + a warthog & rocket hog at each base. 8-16 players.

Snowfall by muffinman496

A snowy path meanders around forerunner structures set in the middle of a forest, flanked by red & blue base to the east & west. A horseshoe map. To the North there are rockets and the south has a train station with each kind of power up. Both hog types, + snow hog, a ghost & turret at each base. 10-16 players.

Casualty Isle by Arteen

An floating island with the outer horseshoe for vehicle excursions & the inside strictly for foot soldiers. Each side is semi-symmetrical for balance. Try to get on top. 2 warthogs, rockets hogs, and ghosts, & a scorpion at each base, 10-16 players.

Atephobia by Arteen

A large symmetric map located in the canyons of Installation 04, some inspiration being drawn from the pre-Xbox builds of Halo. Large, lots of vehicles, central bridge, waterfall and stream. Up to 3 warthogs, 3 rocket hogs, 4 ghosts, 4 turrets, 2 scorpions, and a banshee, and that only counting one of the two bases. A neutral banshee sits atop the north canyon ramp. 14-16 players.

Orion by Wolf, feat. AdmiralBacon

A claustrophobic snake-like canyon, full of trees, cover, and forerunner structures and bases. Each side has a bunker with a waterfall and ramps running down to the flag room. You can climb up the ladder that lead to the base top, then take the main path or tunnels to traverse the short way to your neighbors abode. A hog & 2 ghosts at each base. 8-12 players.

Snowtorn Cove by Arteen & Schwinnz

Each side of the map is different and unique. The red side features winding canyons through tunnels and over bridges. The blue side features a large, ice-covered bridge between wide cliffs. The center of the map features a frozen cove. 2 hogs of each type at each base as well as 2 ghost and a snow hog. Fight for the scorpion and rocket at the central cove. 12-16 players.

Beryl by Arteen

The best Flood map for btb, two circular bases with teleporters leading to a massive central Forerunner platform with bridges above the vehicle sabotaging swamp water & mist. Beryl is a medium-sized level set in the swamps of Halo. The layout is symmetrical, with the platform and surrounding area allow for intense on-foot combat, while the bridge allows for heated vehicular battle. The map features balance mods on the various Covenant weapons.
The Needler, Plasma Pistol, and Plasma Rifle have been upgraded, while the Fuel Rod Cannon has been downgraded. 2 hogs, 2 rocket hogs, 2 ghosts, 2 turrets for each base. 1 central turret. 12-16 players.

No Remorse by NeuroKoNeza ,ZexGX , Lightning Rec0

No Remorse features many twists, turns, back alleys, lofts, apartments, nooks, crannies that you'd normally find in a terrestrial city. As if on the outskirts of a walled city the buildings spill out into the water and down to the sea. Never look back. 10-16 players.

A foreboding partially exposed forerunner facility set on an icy planet. 12-16 players.

IMPORTANT: The following instructions are for the "manual" release of the map pack.

********To install manually********

The maps in this pack are pre-renamed for you, in the interest of facilitating playing the maps with others
(everyone needs to agree on which MCC maps to replace beforehand).

If you are using MCC Mod Manager, you should use the "modpack" version of this release instead. 


            Files to backup
Firstly, navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Halo The Master Chief Collection\ and make copies of these files:
\Halo The Master Chief Collection\data\careerdb\careerdb.xml (only back up careerdb.xml)
\data\ui\texturepacks\levelstexturepack.temp.bin (only back up levelstexturepack.temp.bin)
\Halo The Master Chief Collection\halo1\maps (back up all contents in the maps folder)

Secondly, download BTB Map Pack manual.zip to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Halo The Master Chief Collection\halo1

Then, simply copy levelstexturepack.temp.bin from the .zip & paste to \Halo The Master Chief Collection\data\ui\texturepacks\ (click Yes to overwrite).
This is required for the in-game map selection to display the actual internal map thumbnail (rather than the maps they replaced)

Next, simply copy careerdb.xml from the .zip & paste to \Halo The Master Chief Collection\data\careerdb\ (click Yes to overwrite).
This is required for the in-game map selection to display the actual internal map names (rather than the maps they replaced)

Finally, simply copy the contents of the /maps/ subfolder from the .zip & paste to \Halo The Master Chief Collection\halo1\maps\

Be sure to run the game with easy anti-cheat disabled

I highly recommended using the MCC Mod Manager with this map pack because it lets you: 

  • ) Install bundled modpacks.
  • ) Load mappacks with the correct map names and thumbnails.
  • ) Manage backups of the original MCC map files you need to replace.
  • ) Never worry about changing file and folder names.

Download & install Mod Manager to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Halo The Master Chief Collection

NOTE: Prior to installing this map pack, I recommend that you use MCC Mod Manager's backup feature to save a copy of your careerdb.xml file, and is located here \Halo The Master Chief Collection\data\careerdb\careerdb.xml
also your levelstexturepack.temp.bin \Halo The Master Chief Collection\data\ui\texturepacks\levelstexturepack.temp.bin
as well as your entire H1 maps folder \Halo The Master Chief Collection\halo1\maps

To install BTB Map Pack using MCC Mod Manager:

Simply download the BTB Map Pack modpack.zip file to \MCC Mod Manager v0.8-185-v0-8-1601263889\temp\modpacks 
For example: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Halo The Master Chief Collection\MCC Mod Manager v0.8-185-v0-8-1601263889\temp\modpacks 
(Do not extract the contents of the .zip file)
 
Open MCC Mod Manager and under the 'Configuration' tab, ensure that the MCC Install Directory is correctly set. Most people should have the default directory  as:  C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Halo The Master Chief Collection

In MCC Mod Manager under the 'My Mods' tab, check the select box & hit the Patch/Unpatch button.
Finally, launch MCC with Easy Anti-Cheat disabled and enjoy these new maps!

-Switch back to original maps-
Launch MCC Mod Manager & under the 'Backups' tab, either hit 'Restore All Files' or select all 19 .map files as well as careerdb.xml & levelstexturepack.temp.bin and click 'Restore Selected'.
Enjoy your boring vanilla maps!
