New version v2.1.0 has been released. All the maps were rebuilt in MCC's new mod tools, which enables the high quality classic HUD, enables campaign scoring and should fix all legacy shaders.
Additionally, the update contains a small amount of balance changes and support for Vortex.
Thanks for updating! I played the original mod back when it was released on Halomaps.org (and even followed the original opencarnage.net thread from back then) and loved it! I definitely loved some of the changes you made to the shielded grunts and new Hunters.
A lot of players feel the game has been made too easy with the Super Spartans, and I feel it is an issue as well. I have never seen a single Super Spartan die with the one exception of the Ultra Hunter melee. I highly suggest nerfing their health in the future so that at least it's possible for the player to intentionally kill/destroy them, which would be a highly welcome nerf. Also consider adding new AI/variants to the Guilty Spark /Forerunner/Sentinel Team in the future as they are still pretty limited.
If you want to keep the Super Spartans health the same for all future releases of the main file, I do highly request you release a separate "harder" file for MCC/Halo Custom Edition 's Legendary difficulty that also reverts all of the damage reduction effects for the player (obvious examples include the Wraith, Plasma Grenade, Fuel Rod Gun, Energy Sword, Shotgun, and Rocket Launcher as well as the self-damage and friendly-fire damage from the Scorpion) that also nerfs the Super Spartans.
Things I liked: The robo-spartans are hilarious. Their text to speech lines simulating emotions on the Truth and Reconciliation level are funny. And especially the intro. Johnson is rallying the troops but his troops are just a bunch of unresponsive robots that sit there in silence. The Covenant variations are very interesting to face, I loved the few yellow grunts I saw, and the spec-ops jackals felt lacking in the original.
Things I disliked: Although the Covenant has many new variations, I feel like the human type variety was reduced compared to other overhaul mods. You just have spartan allies for half of the game, and you only have human allies in 3 missions I think. And lastly, I just think the blue Flood variant is a little unnecessary, I didn't notice any AI changes and the role it fills of being smarter could instead be given to the existing Flood models to differentiate them more.
Possible improvements: Constantly having Spartan robotic teammates feels a bit repetitive, and I wish it was toned down a bit. Such as on Assault on the Control Room, it's fine to have one dropship unload spartans but then have the other one drop off ODSTs and marines. I wish the robots that accompany you in The Library were seen in the closing cutscene and then spawned with you in Two Betrayals. And finally, I wish that one of the robots in The Maw was replaced with a human, perhaps an ODST or maybe even a crew member that somehow survived by following the spartan robot around. I'm not sure if the engine allows crewmen to enter vehicles with you but that would be awesome to have them running with you in the final cutscene and looking out the window with you, it would feel so much better to save even just one human than having two soulless robots with you. Also, I would remove the blue Flood and give its improved AI to the regular human Flood so that the two combat forms feel different to fight. Finally, this mod is pretty difficult; even on Normal I was dying quite a bit, although the regenerating health allowed me to AFK between encounters to regen it doesn't feel intended and I wish the difficulty was adjusted to be more like vanilla.
I found the shotgun to be extremely effective in close range. Dodge their swing attack and get a quick shot off at their unprotected back. In just a few shots most Hunter variations will die, with the Flood Hunter only taking 1-2 shots.
This was a really good mod! I played it about a year ago on v2. I really liked the whole thing. I hope you create similar mods for the other Halo classics! I would consider giving the Androids less health but it was a super fun mod!
played this mod last night with me pal, coop was fun and entertaining, loved those spartans just ....actually no, dev knows what they do, in two betrayals and it was absolutely glorius, too bad we cant take them trough the door, if i may ask is it too much work to make the door actually open enough we can bring the car with us just enough for ghost and hog to squeeze trough? either way this mod is brilliant, always felt like oh whats behind this corner, or that corner ...or that door? it was like box of chocolates, you may never know what you get but one thing is certain, its chocolate but in variable flavours.. once ur done with it, it leaves you yearning for more. library was blast, the spartan ai is god damn god at kiting hunters and we never felt like we needed to bayby sit them..frankly they made us feel like we were the ai companions and they were the real heroes of the show, wich was funny and good. i never knew the ai was so good at driving the car btw. this mod has character wich is rare nowdays. 10/10
back to hog question it would make the last parts of the level bit too easy while going full speed, but perhaps some script to make car suddenly loose power, making it harder to use it as tool so skip the encounters but , more like fire support ? slow and steady wins the race
any chance for you to bring in brutes and their various ranks aswell as new weapons such as spiker, mauler, brute plasma rifle and maybe some weapon buffs?
This mod is awesome!! works fine on MCC right now to me.
However it could be a lot better if supported the enhanced textures, thats all im waiting for and would love to see that.
Also i would suggest to replace the white spartans for marines and odst's, or having less spartans or lowering their health because they are too OP xD, but thats easy to solve with assembly, i actually used assembly to change spartans models and health to transform them in odst's.
I really apreciate the many surprises across the levels, theres a lot of work in this mod and it makes the gameplay feel soo good and refreshing after so many years of halo, please add support for the enhanced textures that would make it perfect.
My only complain is with the first cinematic in first level, after the sgt speech all marines were supposed to say: sir yes sir!! but now they are muted and i honestly dont know how to unmute that.
Someone suggested having a warthog in the library haha thats brilliant.

So far its just Killer from a range, SMG close quarters. Maybe the Plasma storm can be more effective? Am I doing it wrong?
~ Cheers

Do both players have the mod installed correctly?
