GUN is a beloved game, and it still looks fairly decent on today's machines. But what if it looked better? No-one hates a remaster more than the original, right? Basically this mod takes textures and re-imports higher resolution or different more fitting textures to help bring the game up in graphical fidelity.

GUN is a beloved game, and it still looks fairly decent on today's machines. But what if it looked better? No-one hates a remaster more than the original, right? Basically, this mod takes textures and re-imports higher resolution or different more fitting textures to help bring the game up in graphical fidelity.
I'm not an artist, I just know how to use upscaling software, and how to mess with Texmod. This has been roughly 2-3 months of my work trying to get the best methods of importing textures.
This is a "Beta" as taking each mission and upscaling, replacing, etc. takes time to properly do, my name isn't Rockstar, haha.
Version 0.1.0: This contains nearly every texture used in the first mission "The Hunt" Biggest changes are the trees, bushes, and most rock/grass textures.
Character/Animal/Gun models are mostly unchanged but are upscaled.
UI has been upscaled, but might seem off, or not close enough to the original in terms of looks.
There are 3 crosshair types to choose from. OG: staying true to the original style, but a little cleaner and more accurate. DOT: Replaces everything with dots for simple aiming. MODERN: A new take on the crosshair style, and my personal favorite.
As I get more used to doing this work, along with a lot of shared textures, version should in theory come out faster and faster each time.
HOW TO INSTALL AND RUN!!!!
If you don't properly follow these directions, you WILL have issues, and the game will crash basically every time due to stupid runtime errors.
1. Download the main version zip, along with a crosshair type.
2. Unzip and place wherever, you will be using Texmod to launch your game
3. OPEN TEXMOD AS ADMINISTRATOR
4. Click the folder and find your GUN.EXE
5. Click the smaller folder next to Select Packages, and select Hunt1-4 along with UI, ModelTextures1, and Crosshair
6. Click Run, it will most likely take a little while to start the game
7. You can easily tell if it's running by looking at the rocks on the first mission, they should be pinkish.
8. Please enjoy! My hard work and effort is what made me continue working on this after multiple issues.
