Morrowind May Modathon wraps up

  • Comment
The fourth annual Morrowind May Modathon Month modding competition, celebrating Morrowind's 16th anniversary, has officially come to a close, and what a wild and crazy ride it's been! Over the course of five weeks, from May 1st to June 1st, 89 new mods were submitted for the competition by 45 different modders, making this year's Modathon one of the most active and successful modding competitions in recent memory, surpassing every previous Modathon combined! Without question, even after 16 long years the Morrowind Modding Community remains an active community, and the results here indicate great things still to come in the future!

Overall there was a ton of mods, covering a variety of categories. From new gameplay mechanics like new save systems, camping survival mods, poison crafting, and more, to new quests and adventures with new factions and cults, new dungeons and overhauls with dank musty tombs and barrows, and just so much more that it would be impossible to cover it all here.

To that end darkelfguy has posted a complete list of all the mods submitted for this year's Modathon, organized by category in the forum thread, so you can easily check out the mods that have been released for this year's competition. And while the Modathon is now over, the official Mod of the Month winners will be announced on June 16th so remember to check in with the forum thread to see who the grand-prize winners are!

darkelfguy and Nexus Mods would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the modders who participated this year, there's never been a competition quite like this, and all of that is owed to the great vitality and ambition of our amazing modders and this amazing community. None of this would be possible without you, and the success of the 2018 Modathon is entirely owed to the tireless dedication of the Morrowind Modding Community!

Morrowind is IMHO the best ES game I have played. It is amazing and humbling to think that such an old game by todays standards is still being actively modded.
    Bravo guys Bravo :)

it always warms my heart seeing people still appreciate morrowind specially in the midst of the focus on fallouts, es6, and starfield rumors.
      Thanks Bloodlord739

Congratulations to all involved, and especially to DarkElfGuy for his continued dedication to this event, which does so much to help keep the wonderful world of Morrowind very much alive.
As far as I'm concerned, the Modathon is a testament to the fact that the Morrowind community is amazing in its creativity, as well as its spirit of mutual cooperation and collaboration... Perhaps it is the quality of Morrowind itself.. it has always attracted awesome people.

In honor of Fallout 76, I wish you Nexus guys would sponsor a year-long Fallout 4 Quest and Companion mod competition. Let's extend the life of this outstanding single player game as long as possible. Some enticing prizes for the winners would be nice.

This was the first year I decided to actively participate, rather than to watch from the sidelines. This was a lot of fun and I'm totally glad I decided to join in the excitement! I'm already looking forward to next year's modathon!
