    I've just found this yesterday. I played the original on my Amiga back in the day and Im well impressed so far!! I did notice though Mr Flay (an old favourite of me and my brothers - in fact anything we see skeleton related has a Mr Flay joke associated with it)  anyway, I noticed you need to feed Mr Flay where I am pretty sire the original you didn't account of been a skeleton I suppose.

    Also, I had Grimrock 2 and bought the first one in order to play this Mod so I was wondering if you have done any other conversions? or is there any others that have done  ones that are as good as this one!

    I am reposting this from the Grimrock forum hoping that somebody will see it and help me out.. Sorry, I don't know how to do spoilers here.

    Absolutely the most infuriating game I've ever played.

    I will post the rest of this as a spoiler because I don't want to ruin it for other people but I really hope the designer of Bloodwych will return to this thread and get me through the remainder of this game.

    Here's where I am.

    1. I've completed Moon, Dragon and Chaos towers and have so far retrieved 2 of the 4 golden figures. I have no clue where the other 2 are. The Chaos tower I had to use the door open function for the last door to remove the pillar or pressure plate. Forget which one. Doesn't matter. I have no idea where that key was supposed to be. I printed out all the maps and marked off whenever I found a key. Supposedly, I found them all but this one was nowhere to be found.

    2. I currently have 3 keys. Two, what appear to be Dragon Tower keys and one Swirl Key. No idea what any of them fit.

    3. I appear to have all the gems now. No idea what I'm supposed to do with these, if anything.

    4. From the Bloodwych maps, it appears I've gone everywhere but Zendik's, I have no idea how to access that area. Don't even know where it is. I'm assuming I access it once I place the 4 figures. Problem is I have no idea where the other 2 figures are. I think once I find them, I'll be able to access Zendik's.

    So...where are the other 2 figures? I have been through all of the main tower, moon tower, dragon tower and chaos tower. I have no idea where else to go. in order to access Zendik and finally put an end to this torture. The designer of the original game that this is based on should be boiled in oil. I have never played anything so frustrating in my life.

    Any assistance at this point will be greatly appreciated.

      Hi Wagtunes,

      I am really sorry for the late reply on this. TBH, I was not sure if anyone played this as it was such a long time since I posted an update.

      I will look through the GrimRock forum for you and if your still up for the challenge I will assist you. I promise though that the game is solvable as I have tested it as have others.

    Remember playing Bloodwych on my Amiga and it was rock hard and frustrating. This is good as it lets you start with an imported set of characters. Played for a couple of hours earlier, with level 12 characters and was breezing through the early stages. Then I took a challenge where the only way out was victory or death. I was a bit too cocky and wasn't watching my health bars and my fire-mage died; then one by one, they all died.
    I won't make the same mistake again.

    Excellent mod with tons of goodies to be found and the feeling of never knowing what you're going to meet next. I met a wizard early in the game, which may have meant death to a new party. I just hit him with some fire and ice magic and he was no more.

    Playing using 2 unarmed warriors and 2 mages, one specializing in fire, the other in ice. Do I need to have a rogue in my party, as no one can use a bow?

    Hi, I finished Serpent Tower and exited it, now all I have is a Serpent Key, shouldn't I have a Moon Key now? Or is there another door I'm forgetting?

      Thanks for playing and testing this MOD,

      Also, I have seen your attempt to re-create the first level of BloodWych on YouTube :) It was actually that video that inspired me to make this MOD, as well as the countless hours of playing BloodWych back in the 1990's :)

      To get the moon key, its in the Serpent Tower on L7

      Here is a link to that Map on Alan Chapman's website

      The key is located in the center of that Level next to the brass key.

      Let me know if your still stuck, or if the key is not there I can provide a command to spawn it in.

      I have play tested this MOD from start to finish and it was there when I tested it so please let me know.

      Ahh, thank you, that helped! Yea I missed that extra Serpent door to the top floor, I recalled seeing it but wasn't sure. This mod has been awesome so far, everywhere I go is bringing back memories (and scares), I love all the extra touches and challenges too. I'm happy you were inspired to make this, It took me a long time just to make the first small portion, although I should have used a map to work from instead of playing the game step by step haha. My friend is also playing this, he's around the same tower, and goes by the name Mantric funnily enough. Great job, Vive La Bloodwych!

      Finally finished yay! Really enjoyed that, great work!

      A few negatives for your feedback, there's a bronze door on Chaos lvl 5 that has a dragon key for it's lock, bronze key still fits though luckily. There was also a star key in Chaos that I never found a place for. Armour wise was strange, never managed to get a full set of anything, lots of mixed styles, not many boots, my mages were bootless lol. But I guess that adds to realism of what you might find on a journey (or maybe I needed to shop a bit more). Helmets and robes would've been cool to see too. My friend also played through it and we had to agree that the huge dino-dragons were the worst part of the game to be honest, they were so overpowered and tedious to fight, took like 10-20 mins each one, like I would have to shoot a few spells and run and recover, or in his case just shoot arrows at it. Aside from that, it's really polished and fun, some of the best RPG mapping ever!

      Hi Torico,

      Thanks for your feedback, I will check the towers and make sure the keys are correct.
      Regarding the armour, I will put more around to ensure full sets can be worn.
      Dragons, they are hard to kill, I will reduce them down to large rooms rather than smaller rooms where they can be seen poking through doors. I will also reduce their hitpoints.

    Hello Zastaph,
    I've been playing this mod for a while and am thinking that I am missing something(s) I have bypassed many passages blocked by pillars because I haven't twigged how you go about them. Some wall buttons remove them I realize, and some floor plates do too. (Because the floor plates don't always obviously react, I didn't do anything to a lot of these) I have been removing all torches for a while and more recently leaving them or something else in alcoves, but I don't really know what I'm doing. I obviously never played the original game. Can you give me some ground rules that I should be following here?

    I neeed help with moontower Level 2 - how to get in the other area between the piers? Level 1 what to put on altar?

      Hi geniusmcp,

      You dont need to put anything on the alter in the moontower.On level 2 there is a secret wall, behind that you can place the blueish or tan gems to teleport to the other areas on level 2.

      Sorry to hear that, please let me know which recruitment area you chose, I will test this and also which champions you selected. You will need 4 champions to play otherwise you cant start the quest. Also, if you want I can take a look at your save if send me it as a private message in the Grimrock forum.

    Some pros and cons... think I'll drop the cons first since they are not that bad.

    Was hoping for a near exact version of BW... but the new recruitment area I can understand and it actually sped things along.

    Pros: Love the intro music.... what is that from?

    Q: How do you sell items to the merchants?I remember being able to sell items at at least one of the merchants somewhere... or do I have to wait till I get past a certain point?I am already in Serpent tower and got a stack of items back at the merchant.

    Suggestions:There is a Dungeon Master remake on the Steam workshop: I think it's called Back into the dungeons. You might want to check that out for a couple more ideas that would fit nicely in with this.

    He went as far as to remove ice spells and replace them with some of his own. Some of those spells included being able to make your own potions by holding an empty flask and chanting a spell. Big time useful. Honestly, the alchemy system ( as genius as it was at first) seems to be holding me back. Can't find enough mats to really make it viable.The potion seller would be better if he at least bought back empty flasks for at least 1g each.

    Right now they are stacking up

    Can you also put in an additional box or bag somewhere so I can put my food into those? lol

    Other than all that.. I love how the Serpent tower looks and feels. I Like the individual look of the entrances too.

    I had been making my own Bloodwych remake and even had the demo of it on Steam's workshop until someone pointed here...

    Actually considered finding a way to dump most of the spells from Grimrock and trying to implement the Bloodwych ones into it... but if I recall that would involve setting each recruitable character up with a specific "Card type" like in the real game.Yellow for Chaos, Red for Dragon, Blue for Moon, and Green for serpent. etc That would take a lot of time...however, some spells that were in BW could be moved over to this... perhaps magelock, arcbolt, and maybe.. alchemy? wasn't that the one that turned weapons/armor held in hand into gold coins?



    Anyways..still testing this but so far I love it.

    Btw... I wouldn't mind laying down the floors for the Extended levels.However, I never did solve the extended levels...had it on Amiga back in the day.. just never did finish it. Got stuck on one point and never went further.

    How did you make the wooden walls?The beds?and ... the columns?I also couldn't figure out how to make things like the columns vanish.

    One last Q:Is the axe, "Brain Biter" in this ?

      Thanks for trying out my MOD I really appreciate you doing this. I have answered each question you have below.

      Not the exact conversion
      I would love to make it happen, but my only problem with that was the time. I have someone making me the assests for custom wallsets, once its completed I hope to add this into each corresponding tower as I am not the artist here So even with someone doing that it takes time.

      Intro Music
      Jan Glembotzki, I chose this piece because of the impact it had. It just reached out to me that it had to be the intro! I am glad you liked it )

      Recruitment areas. I had the idea to make 2 as we have a younger generation of gamers now. They might not appreciate the time taken to walk around such a large area for portraits so I decided to provide an option that essentially offers the same but moves the game on quicker.

      Selling Items to Merchants
      I am planning to provide this in the forthcomming release of the MOD. I am glad you mentioned it. Also there was exchanges, I am working on this one.

      Dungeon Master Remake (Back to the Dungeon)
      I have already looked quite heavily at this fantastic MOD already but I did not check the spells. I know that there are custom spells being offered on the forum, I would like to ideally create the same spells but again its quite time consuming and this MOD has taken me over 3 years so far, but I am happy with that as I really enjoyed making it and adding to it

      Adding a storage item for flasks
      I agree with you on this, if you end up with lots of flasks it is rather annoying. I will add some storage items to the next release.

      Thanks for your comments on the individual entrances. I had this idea to make it look more enticing. If you can see different wallsets you will easily identify which tower is which and where.

      Your remake
      I am looking now on Steam for it. I have subscribed to download it and will check it out. I also saw a remake of the 8bits version, I liked that also but by that time I had moved away from 8bit and like you I had an Atari ST then an Amiga and I played BloodWych on those almost non stop. My main reason for remaking this was to stimulate and hopefully inspire some minds (young and old) to come back to it once again and remember the great game it was.

      Dumping Spells and use BloodWych only type spells
      Its a good idea, but like you have said it would take a lot of time to recreate and also test. I am looking at some of this but I agree it would take a lot of time to test and implement as there are so many spells to recreate. Would you like to work with me to re-create the spells? Let me know.

      Extended Levels
      Thanks for offering to assist with this, I have already layed out all the floors and added all the required details, I am going to start testing this soon and release it into the next few MODS ahead but there are custom spells to add to this also..

      Props (Walls, Pillars, Bed)
      I used a centre pillar model then I used the Grimrock Model Toolkit to add the required Material to each pillar for each tower
      The wooden walls came from another mod and I used belnder to strip out some of the things I did not need. I then coloured each wooden wall according to each tower being used.
      The invisible walls are just decorations and cloned off the temple wall. You can just walk straight through them.
      Making the columns vanish was just a case of using the destroy command, if thats what your asking.

      Brain Biter, I did not add, but if you think its a needed item, I will add it in. Ace of Swords and Chaos Gloves are there (that took ages to code!!)

      I really do want to make a map for Grim Rock.. any chance of including the columns, wooden walls, and moveable (my trigger) room as well as the crystals for users to use?

      Still can't believe Grim Rock didn't include thin walls like that to go along with those wooden doors.
      I did solve the map today and was overall impressed. Still miss the end Monster (he reminded me of Rawhead Rex from the movie).
      However it was a glorious end.

      BUGS FOUND: Moon tower (I believe the first level..) I got a screenie of it on my Steam profile.The corner room in unaccessable. I believe you forgot a wooden door
      Final level on Zendick map:Chaos Crystal does not work.I had to use the TAN crystal (the teleporting one) in the slot.

      Other than that.. I can say that the Moon Tower looked freaking awesome all the way through. Love the blue texture walls as well as the Chaos tower.. I was literally tripping through that one.

      Thanks for your post about the Moon Tower and Chaos Gem. I have now resolved the Chaos gem socket problem and replaced it. As for the moon tower, can you post or give me some more ideas on where you are? I cant locate the room that needs a door?
