    You have my heartfelt thanks for not expressely indicating how to install the bloody thing in the description or the attached readme file, making people specifically go look for the information. Much appreciated. Jerk.

      What a fucking dick. Really. This guy spends all of this time doing something for you for free in his spare time and all you can do is call him a jerk because you're lazy? ffs

      Yeah, typing the words "How to install Grimrock mods" into Google is a pretty strenuous task. I can only try to imagine how you survived the arduous endeavor.

      Also, I apologize for using big words and not expressly indicating what they mean in my message, making you specifically go look for the information. My children will have to endure the shame.

    Hi Great game must have taken a long time to create. I have a problem on level 5 Deserted Tunnels I cannot get through to portcullis before the wooden door closes. I have thrown the rock onto the pressure plate but the wooden door closes as I barley get through the portcullis. I never had the problem when playing the standard version. Its driving me mad.

    EDIT

    LOL
    Wow, okay, so I just looped around the floor two more times,
    and found the damn button.
    And it was right next to the wall you can hear the spiders from.

    I failed my spot check so bad, but it's kinda funny.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Old post bellow
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    I've spent the last 2 days scouring the walls of floor 3 pillars of light,
    looking for the way to open the secret spider room with the button that opens the stairway to the floor 4 slime area.
    I found where the wall opens, do to the sound of spiders on the other side,
    but can't find the button to get it open.

    I've become frustrated enough to try ad find a walk-through for Master Quest,
    but it doesn't help much.
    All it says is "secret button in N area opens wall, stairs down to slime section, find green gem (secret button in slime room), put in daemon mouth"

    I've looked at every bit of wall in the north side of the map, and I can't find it.

    If it can't be seen normally, or is a torch holder now, please let me know what and where it is.

    Half on half... Sometimes it feels great, sometimes bad... But it's definitely much worst than the original game. Why? The first complain is overcomplicated secrets finding, it feels VERY tiresome. Most of the time I need to figure out what to do to find secret but not how to open it and when I use logic for that, the game design tells me: "No! You must read developer mind!" Bad design choices that is what I read from it... Not always of course, but very often. What I like here is much more hard monsters and relevant reward for killing them. I like improved progression which was lack of in the original game. Also I hate new ambient music in some levels which is very boring. At first it gives something fresh to the atmosphere but after some time it forces me simply mute it in the options, because it don't belong to their places (I think there is not so many people around the world who knows what really is great sound and how to make it in the game). And last thing which I hate is dirty textures in some levels. They supposed to add horror vibe to lover levels but made in very cheap layman level. Verdict: this mod is not for perfectionists...

    Wow, that was great. Didn't play Grimrock since about 2 years (original dungeon hadn't please me so much), then played your Master Quest (two times, began level 15 from imported party from original and finished level 38 ).
    Amazing gaming experience. Thank you so much.

    This is probably not the correct place to be asking; I've attempted to install several times through NMM, but the file so far has shown up as incomplete, or unable to install due to it being corrupted. I installed through the nexus website, and have v0.50.3. Any and all help, or a redirection to the correct place to find this information is greatly appreciated. (The NMM forum has no information on the problem that has helped me fix the issue.)

    I installed the mod, slected the file in game, and the title screen then reads "Master Quest".
    But i see no difference at all to the original dungeon layout?
    Version Grimrock is 1.3.6.

      The differences in the first couple levels are more subtle, then the changes get bigger

    Hello! Having seen very little I am so far impressed, it really is like a new game. Nicely done

    I am having a problem actually and I am probably missing something so I thought I'd ask. Shouldn't there be something like starting weapon? I imported my solo character (lvl 7) who specialized in Axes. The first thing I encountered was a snail, which I had to fight against holding a knife, the only weapon found up to that point. Well... it was a pain. I ran around in a 2x2 for a long time, dealing 5 damage every now and then (slow attack speed too, for some reason I couldn't understand) and eventually even died because a second snail randomly found its way and they cornered me

    Any tips?

      Yeah I know what you're talking about - That's the way it is at first, very hard for imported high level champions until they find a good weapon they are trained in. And I know it can be frustrating for a battle to take so long. Every type of weapon can be found by around halfway through level 2, so if you can just hang in there a bit that's part of the challenge of it being the Master Quest. You might try back-tracking more instead of just circling around in the 2x2 so that no other snail can come.
