Reshade True Light is a reshade preset that will bring more realistic light, with less color saturation, more details, a bit of darkness touch as well, see the screenshots.
Tested with Grim Dawn v1.2.0 and Reshade v6.1.1
INSTALLATION
- install Reshade from the official reshade.me website.
- during the install select the Grim Dawn.exe file from the x64 directory (not the one from the parent directory).
- select Directx10/11 option.
- install all the shaders and exit the installer
- now the tricky part: under Steam, right click on Grim Dawn, in the properties, in the launch options, select Play Grim Dawn (x64). Now Reshade should start from here. But if you want to use a shortcut, don't use the default shortcut, you need to create a new one.
- So create a new shortcut that point to your steam.exe (generally C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steam.exe),
then in the shortcut properties add -applaunch 219990 /x64,
so the shortcut target should looks like "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steam.exe" -applaunch 219990 /x64 (depending of your steam.exe location).
You may also change the icon from one of the grim dawn exe file. - Now put the ReshadeTrueLight.ini file in the x64 directory of Grim Dawn. Then under Grim Dawn, you should see the Reshade top bar progress, then press Home key, and select this preset. You may also check the performance checkbox (at bottom right) if it is not checked. You can change some settings by uncheck this performance checkbox.
- That's all. No need to rename any dll, at least with Grim Dawn v1.2.0 and Reshade v6.1.1. You can also remove some shaders you don't use from the reshade-shaders directory to speed up the start, or remove those that don't work with DirectX10/11 and that are still under development, just beware some are dependencies.
Don't forget to endorse if you like it :)
