Thank you for modding this in! As of the current version of me writing this, I can confirm that the radio stations DO work and that the songs are modded back in for San Andreas, but I wonder to what extent. They play, but they seem to be very, very rare to hear. As of right now, I have heard the modded songs play on Radio Los Santos and K-Dust specifically, albeit rarely. I have yet to hear any of the removed songs on Radio X, however. Not sure if it isn’t working on that station or just getting unlucky. Haven’t tested much of the other stations.
As far as Vice City goes, I haven’t tested it much, but I believe that it is working based on what others have said. But there is a major caveat. The mod does NOT work with a new game save of Vice City, as it breaks Flash FM and makes it not play any sound at all. However, modding the game after the first manual save seems to work just fine, with Flash FM playing like normal. The reason, I believe, is because there is code for Vice City that makes it to where a brand new game on a fresh load will play Billie Jean on Flash FM in the very first car you enter. Since Billie Jean was removed, it is replaced with Self Control by Laura Brannigan. Since this mod adds Billie Jean back into rotation, that probably breaks something in the code, since I believe this is the only scripted instance of a radio song playing at a specific time. So if your hopes are to hear Billie Jean when you enter a car for the first time, you might have to hang up the sparkling glove on that goal with this mods current iteration. However, if you wait to mod Flash FM until AFTER the first manual save, then this mod should work just fine and Flash FM will continue to play music for sure, including the modded songs, theoretically. Hope this helps!
Was trying to download it myself and noticed the current downloads use file ID's for the download, so looked into the HTML for the Vice City one and tried it out. xD
You have to start a new game without the radio mod, then after the first mission manually save it, add the mod back start game... drive around for 15 minutes and the vice city radio station Flash Fm should work! along with everything else thanks to boxhed95's Method.
Please, you can release an updated version for GTA Vice City Definitive edition, since it also stopped working, here is the link: https://www.nexusmods.com/grandtheftautothetrilogy/mods/361?tab=files
Just ask him lol he'll come by and update eventually all he needs to do is rechange the fmodel directory folders within the .pak files.. rename it correctly and the unpack with compression turning it into a new .pak file. Thats it.
also I really would like a version that has no extra songs, only the original ones that came with the game (counting "running with the night") but the mixmods one also hasn't updated
Been trying and failing to update the ViceCity radio and I've seen with the new update that the .ogg file is now stored in a .ubulk file rather than the .uexp file of the previous version. Using FModel I can see the contents of the file and even play the audio file but whenever I cook the project in UE4 the output is always .uasset and .uexp without the .ubulk file. Do you mind sharing what settings you used to successfully cook your files for the format on the latest patch version of the game?
Thanks, funnily those are the guides I used including the folder structure and I agree they are a massive help to get started on using the tools needed for modding (Fmodel/Umodel/Unrealpak) but I'm at a loss as to why when I cook mine the only files that are outputted are .uasset and .uexp without the .ubulk file. Reason I asked you as unpacking your pak file I can see you've managed to successfully cook yours with the .wav/.ogg file inside a .ubulk file. Did you create a .cue file or any extra soundclasses to get yours to work? I found that the previous version of the game was easier to mod the radio stations.
I have a question! I want to replace the Chatterbox 109 radio in Vladivostok FM in gta 3 definitive edition, I already have separated ogg format files, as I understand it, I need to use Unreal Engine and just convert them to .uasset, then using unreal pak, Convert the Radio_Chatterbox folder to Radio_Chatterbox.pak? that's it? I apologize if the text is written incorrectly, (I used a translator)
Is anyone familiar with the modded Nintendo Switch version? I know some pak mods work with it but not the radio restoration files. Does anyone know if there's a way to convert the audio files to the pak file to make them work with the Nintendo Switch?
sadly i dont not use nintendo switch everything i did was on PC, you may have to search forums, guides on how to potentially convert radio audio files into a pak file via nintendo switch because at this moment I have no clue.

Just be aware that the radio channels sometimes just stop working and you need to restart the game to get it going again.
How did you get that link?
