This mod adds significantly more peds to the streets and more vehicles to the roads by editing CustomSettings.ini and popcycle.dat. Increasing vehicle traffic comes at a slight trade-off to vehicle spawn distance, which means cars will pop in to existence closer to the player. Only for San Andreas.

San Andreas no longer has to feel barren and devoid of life! This mod adds significantly more peds to the streets and more vehicles to the roads by editing CustomSettings.ini and popcycle.dat. Increasing vehicle traffic comes at a slight trade-off to vehicle spawn distance, which means cars will pop in to existence closer to the player. 




CUSTOMSETTINGS.INI WARNING

This mod and Better LOD Config both modify these same parameters:

gta.peds.distance
gta.cars.distance
gta.cars.density (OPTIONAL. Delete this setting to have car density handled by SAMorePeople, or set it to 80.0 to maximize car density always)


Before using the ExtraCustomSettings from this mod, make sure to delete any lines from other mods (like Better LOD Config) that set these variables. Setting cars and peds distance higher reduces their density, and vice versa. This effect is felt much more strongly for cars.

Setting the same variable more than once in CustomSettings.ini will likely cause the game to crash.


Why decrease vehicle spawn distance? San Andreas DE seems to spawn and track vehicles within a circle around the player with a radius determined by the car spawning distance (gta.cars.distance). Decreasing this distance a little bit will greatly decrease the area the game has to track vehicles, and so it can fit vehicles more densely into this region before hitting the engine limit. That's the understanding I gather from my tests, but feel free to mess with the .ini values and see for yourself what works best.
