    This causes lag on an RTX 3070, I had to stop using it. Idk how this game with a tweaked setting can do that. Must be a game engine limitation or something.

      Lag on my 3090 as well with this mod. Removing it and everything is fine. Safe to say this is the culprit.

      Make sure you change the backend to DX12. All 3 games run way better with DX12 especially with this custom LOD setup. To do so with Steam right click on game properties, and you can do it in the R* launcher too depending on which version you have. Just look it up for exact instructions. It's easy.

      This config file absolutely needs the DX12 command line, which everyone should be using anyways. Also, the VRAM setting in each config file needs to be tweaked to whatever your GPU supports. My 13700K and 3090 have no problems whatsoever running this config with great performance at 4K everything maxed with DLSS set to quality mode and view distance in game set to medium to avoid Unreal Engine 4's melted plastic LOD's.

    Running this mod with DX12 command line in San Andreas on my 13700K and 3090. Tweaked the VRAM setting to 24000 for my 24 gigs of VRAM. Everything is running smoothly. Only problem i've noticed is when driving in certain key areas(like the hills north of Los Santos), the textures go low quality and take 3-5 seconds to load up. Not something that happens everywhere and it always happens in the exact same trigger spots. Not sure if there's any setting I can find that would solve this. Other than that, good mod. I also love the fact that vegetation and peds are drawn farther out too.

      Ok, so I found out that I can get rid of the "melted plastic" LOD's when I turn "Distance Scaling" in the graphic options down to medium. This prevents the LOD's not loading up properly while also using this config to maintain good looking LOD's and reducing pop-in from vegetation and peds/vehicles. You will need to adjust the VRAM setting to whatever your GPU supports though.

    Hey brother, I've been messing around with the grass/foliage parameters specifically in Vice City and wanted to say that any of the "foliage." parameters appear to do nothing for this particular game. Whether the foliage.CullDistanceScale=0.1 or even a 6.0. The only setting that affects grass is grass.CullDistanceScale (and grass.Density, but didn't mess with that one). I'm sure you noticed that a lot of grass flickering occurs when set to a high distance such as grass.CullDistanceScale=5.0. I did a bunch of testing and realized that any value over 1.82 will initiate patches of grass flickering in and out of existence. A value of 1.83 is when this will begin to occur. The higher the value the worse it gets. You can see the screenshots below (nexus doesn't allow images from GoogleDrive so I have to put the link). Also, Ultra distance scaling for grass appears to be a value of 1 so anything above that is at least a win in my book :)

    Distance Scaling = Close (Vanilla)

    Distance Scaling = Medium (Vanilla)

    Distance Scaling = Far (Vanilla)

    Distance Scaling = Ultra (Vanilla)

    Distance Scaling = Ultra + your LOD mod and grass.CullDistanceScale=1.82

    Unless there is a parameter in UE4 that is similar to the Witcher 3's RedEngine like GrassRingScale for setting memory allocation higher to eliminate grass flicker, then I can't see it going above 1.82 without the excessive flickering.

    Sorry, but another issue.....

    The following parameters appear to completely break streetlights in all three games:

    gta.streetlight.shadowdistance=5
    gta.streetlightdistance=5.0

    Your mod with these parameters included

    Your mod removing these two parameters

    Everything else seems to be working quite well, but I highly recommend updating the mod and removing those two parameters. Thanks again for taking the initiative to improve the LOD issues with this game dude :)

      Thats true! I even didnt know the street lights can shine that beautyfully before your post. It was very dark :S Thank you!

      Which do you recommend using? I just would like to have the best look possible without compromising performance or causing any bugs to the game, my setup handles these mods smoothly, I just get lost in the midst of

      The line about streetlightdistance should be removed but I recommend leaving the streetlight.shadowdistance line alone. Deleting it causes the streetlights to leave weird ugly lines on the ground and walls they hit (something that medium and high headlight settings in the game also suffer from and I have no idea how to fix)

      Thanks that was the solution to the problem I was having, now the street lights don't make the road textures glitch out. Anyone downloading this in the future should head your advice and leave the streetlight.shadowdistance line in the ini.

    This caused a 100% crash rate during Vice City when attempting to start the rampage inside the mall outside the record store where you kill gang members with a rocket launcher. Only time I've had a problem with this though otherwise it works flawlessly.

    Using -dx12 commandline fixes the low FPS problem, amazing mod working fine on 3050 8GB.

    Introduces massive performance drop and stuttering with no real upside. Not worth it.

      Just remove the modded CustomSettings.ini and launch the game. The game will create a new vanilla customsettings.ini automatically.

    Nope, takes modern LOD algorithms to do that, look at that GTA 5 did, there is a setting specifically for streaming lod while flying.

    Its a hard thing to do, entirely possible with the remake.

    But i will take its own personal algorithm that kicks in when your in flight, not easy to do.
