      I would only swap the starting armor with boar and wolf skin due to it having the same amount of parts and textures. The other shoulder guards have less parts and textures. Im still figuring out how to do other swaps.

      It's still a big step up, better than level one shoulder guard. Besides that shoulder guard has a free enchantment socket that helps to level up more.
