Description

Modifies Decoy66's M16 at Ghost Recon Breakpoint Nexus - Mods and community (nexusmods.com) to somewhat resemble an M16A2. For all your bushwacking needs.

Please refer to the original mod's description to learn how to equip the stock. It will not be equipped by default. This is not a bug.

This, like the original mod, alters the M4 Assault. Please refrain from the temptation to make some snide observation that the real M16A2 only had semi/burst options. I know; I cannot control this in-game.

Technically, this gun can still accept all the attachments that the standard M4 Assault uses. But I assume that if you're the kind of person who voluntarily installs an M16A2 mod, you will (correctly) not use any.

Installation

  • Download M16 at Ghost Recon Breakpoint Nexus - Mods and community (nexusmods.com).
  • After you download that mod, copy all of the contents of it to DataPC_patch_01 into the Extracted folder. If there is no Extracted folder yet, create it.
  • Navigate into Extracted. Use Anvil Toolkit to repack all of the files included with the M16 mod. These will appear in the main DataPC_patch_01 folder now as .data files.
  • Download this mod. This mod contains two .data files that are contained in folders instructing you where to place them.
  • Copy the .data file in the DataPC_patch_01 folder from this mod into the main DataPC_patch_01 folder. You will be asked to overwrite a file. Do so.
  • Copy the other .data file into the DataPC_Resources_patch_01 folder. You probably won't have to overwrite anything unless for whatever reason you've edited the AR-18 handguard, which, to my knowledge, no other mod currently has done at the time of writing.
  • Now repack both folders, and you should be done.

Notes

  • The handguard's textures are currently a bit broken and won't accept camos. This is because I had to edit the mesh in such a way that removed its texture as part of the process. It should appear fine if you're using solid colours though, and don't look too closely. I'm currently investigating ways to fix this.
  • This will partially break the appearance of the AR-18 by moving its handguard closer to the receiver. This was necessary to fix a gap issue due to the way the AR-18 and M4A1 receivers differ in structure (see below). I haven't seen a single player who regularly uses it, but in case you do, here's your caveat. HOWEVER...
  • You can choose to not install the respective file into DataPC_Resources_patch_01, which preserves its ability to accept camo. However, you will have to deal with a gap, as seen below. This is only really visible in head-on screenshots though, and is almost completely unnoticeable in regular gameplay except if you're paying particular attention to it.
