Installation

- Unpack the downloaded archive.
- Place the "Ghost Master HD" folder into:
...\GhostData\Mods
For Steam users, the full path is usually:
C:\ProgramFiles (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Ghost Master\GhostData\Mods
4. Activate the mod in the Mods section after starting the game.

This mod is not compatible with other mods that replace level or character .bsp files.
For example: mods like Quba’s Ghost Pack will overwrite GMHD files and vice versa. You’ll either get a vanilla Ghoul Room or the HD version — but not both together. However, the game will still be playable. To achieve full compatibility, a patch would be required.
Mod creators are welcome to use GMHD textures to enhance their own mods or create compatible versions of the Ghoul Room.
HW requirements
GMHD is heavier than vanilla, so performance may be lower — especially on older machines. However, it has been tested successfully even on the following setup:
- Intel Core i7-860 @ 2.80GHz
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti (2GB VRAM)
- 8 GB RAM
- A very slow HDD

If the game crashed...
- when you activated the mod:
Rare, but it happens. Just restart the game. - when you clicked mouse during the loading screen:
Don’t. Even if it looks stuck, give it time. Clicking can crash the game. - every time while loading a specific level:
I may have missed a texture that isn’t in power-of-two resolution, which can cause issues on some setups. Let me know the level name and I’ll fix it. - mid-level:
Might not be related to GMHD. Happens sometimes, especially when using cheats (e.g., often in The Unusual Suspects). Annoying, but usually replaying the level works.

Although I created this mod solo, it wouldn’t have been possible without the support I receive at home and the wonderful Ghost Master community which keeps this game alive.
Huge thanks to the GMCE Dev Team for creating the tools that made this mod possible, and for their kind advice throughout development.
And of course, eternal thanks to the original developers, Sick Puppies, who brought this one-of-a-kind game to life.
