How to backup your user settings config file (which contains your game and mod settings)

To backup your user settings config file: 1. Press `Windows + R` 2. For Steam, open `%Appdata%\Fatshark\Darktide\`. For MS Store/ Xbox, open `%Appdata%\Fatshark\MicrosoftStore\Darktide\` 3. Make a copy of user_settings.config and keep a backup of it. Full path is likely `C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Fatshark\Darktide\user_settings.config`. I recommend pinning the folder to quick access which is accessible from your File Explorer's Home if you want to have easy access to console log as well. Weapon FOV error popup during the login process?

If it is `[ERROR] (hook_safe): trying to hook function or method that doesn't exist: [UIProfileSpawner._equip_item_for_spawn_character]`, it is likely from *Weapon FOV*. Outside of the error message popup it does not seem to cause any issues, but you could disable it if you want. I wouldn't because of its great ADS zoom options for, as an example, removing FOV zoom from revolver/ Rumbler/ Grenade Gauntlet/ Kickback ADS. You could also do the Manual fix mentioned in the [mod's post page](https://www.nexusmods.com/warhammer40kdarktide/mods/222?tab=posts).

Crash on mission completion?

It could be *Scoreboard* (2.2) related. It was reported that if you reload mods mid mission, scoreboard will crash at the end; though it could also be that it just needed reinstalling or a history issue: Compare the Scoreboard version in Vortex with the one from the collection or mod page, if it is the same, try removing older versions and then reinstalling the latest one. If it still crashes, try reinstalling the various *Scoreboard* Plugins: - ScoreboardTagCounter - ScoreboardExplosive - Scoreboard Damage - scoreboard_enhanced_defense_plugin - Scoreboard Plugin - Ammos picked If it still occurs you could try deleting your Scoreboard history files in `\AppData\Roaming\Fatshark\Darktide\scoreboard_history`. Crash when opening the Penance screen/ Mission Completion/ rare crash in the Mourningstar?

Likely due to *Extended Weapon Customization* (2.2.3). Try disabling the **Randomization** mod options or disable it if it still crashes and check if it has been resolved.

I didn't encounter it, but there are reports that it is due to *Show Crit Chance* (1.1.3) disable it for the tutorial if you do. It is also somewhat inaccurate at times.

Crash when activating ability (potentially the Arbites' Nuncio-Aquila, while sprinting)?

Likely a rare crash issue with *Tap2Dodge* on ability activation (possibly with Arbites' Nuncio-Aquila), try disabling *Guarantee Ability Activation* from Toggle Mods menu if want to keep *Tap2Dodge* enabled, it should be below *Multibind* and see if it fixes it. This issue might have been fixed with Hotfix \#70 but I haven't tested it thoroughly. "Fixed an issue where it was not possible to deploy a Nuncio-Aquila while sprinting."

Out of Memory Crashes?

## If you run into "Out of Memory" crashes, you could try to increase the Lua memory Heap size (uses more RAM space) through the following launch option/ argument modification: 1. On Steam, open your Library. 2. On the left sidebar, Right Click Warhammer 40,000: Darktide. 3. Click Properties. 4. Copy and Paste `--lua-heap-mb-size 2048` in the Launch Options. Alternative: 1. If you have issues at step 5 when patching the game using toggle_darktide_mods.bat you can try the following troubleshooting steps: 1. Return to step 1 and ensure **Hardlink Deployment** is used and the Mod Staging Folder is in the same Drive as the Game folder. 2. If it still does not work, disable Darktide Mod Loader and Auto Mod Loading and Ordering, 3. Weapons instantly Un-Ads when trying to aim?

This is likely from a mod conflict between the Optional mods *Default Sprint* and *Toggle Alt Fire*. Unfortunately, if you really want to use *Default Sprint*, you might want to disable *Toggle Alt Fire* and use the in-game Toggle ADS option. Quote from the creator of *Toggle Alt Fire*: "I probably won't be able to look at this for a long time, but also without looking at the code for both mods, it's difficult to know which mod needs to be changed to fix it. For what it's worth, the vanilla game has a toggle aim option. People have said they prefer the mod but I don't remember exactly why. ## Fix according to the mod author: "Fat Shark must've renamed some abilities because I could not get old configs to work with this new update. Experienced the rare `smart_tag` crash?

I was almost positive that it was due to *Better Dog Targets* by process of elimination. Could be incompatibility with other mods that use tags such as *Servo Friend*, *Dog Whistle*, or *Less Annoying Arbites*. I removed it from the collection and put it in the *Other Mods Not In The Collection* section below due to this.

I have an issue with the Mod Collection that is not listed above

If it results in a crash, you could try some these steps first: 1. If it is after a Major update or Hotfix, wait for an update to the Mod Collection before continuing to step 2. Alternatively, you could press 'Check for Updates' in Vortex and try updating mods that already has an update. 2. Try disabling/ removing/ reinstalling *Extended Weapon Customization* and see if it fixes it. 3. If not fixed, try disabling all your mods (including those you downloaded and installed that are not part of this Mod Collection), only enable mods that are part of the Mod Collection, and then see if it fixes it. 4. If not fixed, try reinstalling the mods: In Vortex, block select them and then press the Reinstall button (If you don't have Nexusmods premium, it shouldn't try to make you download them one-by-one again as Vortex should still have the downloaded mod archives). 5. If still not fixed, try **restarting** (not Shut Down) your computer before going for the final option (I had double Healthbar bug in Psykhanium, crash on launch, lingering *Extended Weapon Customization*, and some other bugs that are fixed by doing this). 6. If all else fails you could go with the nuclear option of manually deleting all the mods in game's mods folder (just in case there are leftover/ lingering mod files that Vortex borked or broken mods that you installed manually instead of through Vortex), then starting fresh with the Mod Collection. Tested for Steam version. Untested for Gamepass version, but it should work the same; Gamepass has a different game directory location. 1. Have [Vortex Mod Manager](#Vortex-Mod-Manager) with [Darktide Vortex Extension](#Darktide-Vortex-Extension) i. **Steam users** should have their game directory be the `Warhammer 40,000 DARKTIDE` folder found in their `steamapps\commons` folder or their custom Steam Library. ii. **Gamepass users** should have their game directory be the `Contents` folder found in their `XboxApps\Warhammer 40,000- Darktide` folder or their custom Xbox app library folder. iii. You can check and set Game Directory in the **Games** page in Vortex and clicking the triple vertical dot at the top right of the Darktide card element. iv. Go to the **Settings** page in Vortex and then the **Mods** *tab*. Ensure that the *Deployment Method* chosen is `Hardlink Deployment`. If it is not, change it to `Hardlink Deployment` and press the Apply button. v. In the same **Settings** page as step iv, ensure the *Mod Staging Folder* is in the same Drive as the game install directory. If it is not, you can either manually click the `Suggest` button and then navigate, create, and select a directory in the same Drive the game is in as the Staging Folder or set the `Automatically use suggested path for staging folder` to active. 2. Updating Mod Collection to a Higher Revision

1. Update the Collection to the higher Revision and go through the updates/ mod install process. 2. Read the Revision changelog and Disable/ Remove problematic mods that were removed from the Collection. 3. If there are still issues, either: i. Read the changelogs of all the revisions up to the one you are using for problematic mods that were removed and disable/ remove them. ii. Or remove the mods and mod collection (don't remove the archive/ files so you don't need to redownload all of the mods) and then Install the Mod Collection again.

Audible Thrust - Makes gaining *Thrust* Blessing stacks produce sound. - I changed the sound for Stack 1 and 2 to *human punch light* 7. Better Buff Management - Set the hotkey (I set it to *F6*). - Name Bars and create them. - Search for blessing/ class buffs/ debuffs to add to the selected bar. - Some filters to use: 'Zealot', 'Psyker', 'Ogryn', 'Veteran', 'Adamant', 'Strength', 'Damage', 'crit', 'Toughness', 'on_hit', 'on_continuous', etc. - I have separate bars for Keystones and Talents & Blessings 14. Biopages - Adds a new "Biography" tab to the inventory screen, which can display the choices you made regarding your character's background. - It also works when inspecting other players. 15. Blitz Bar (Temporarily ? Removed) - I stopped using this and started using *Crosshair HUD* instead and created a Keystone buff bar through Better Buff Management. - Use Custom HUD/ *F3* and move Blitz Bar to a position you want (it is the long horizontal rectangle HUD element). - Set if you want to have it prioritize displaying Blitz or Keystone. 16. Friendly NPCs - Makes vendors always be friendly to you (Most noticeable when playing Psyker and talking with Sister Prine/ Melk). - I personally stopped using it (for more voiceline variety). 36. Full Auto - QoL if you want autofire for semi-auto weapons. There are options for charge-fire weapons and some Blitz as well. - My Settings: - Automatic Firemode (Toggle): *T* - Everything in Misc section to Off 37. FX Limiter - Should reduce performance impact during hordes. - Limits the amount of flesh/ armor/ surface impact VFX (blood decals, blood effects, bullet impacts) that can play per frame. 38. Get Out of The Way - Prevent players from blocking your camera by making them fade out if they get too close - I set **Only Ogryn** to *On* 39. Granular Settings - More decimal places for sensitivity and FOV. - Increased minimum and maximum FOV by 20°. 40. Guarantee Ability Activation - Guarantee combat ability activation when player try to activate them in middle of animation (queuing the action at the end of the animation). 41. Guarantee Special Action - Guarantee special action and reload action when the player try to perform them in the middle of certain animations (queuing the action at the end of the animation). 42. Guarantee Weapon Swap - Guarantee weapon swap when player try to swap in the middle of animation (queuing the action at the end of the animation). 43. Healthbars - Shows the healthbars of enemies, toggleable per enemy type. 44. Health Scaling - Scales health and toughness bars based on their maximum values. - I personally don't use this as I find the different length bars distracting. 45. Helbore Passive Charged - QoL to make Helbore lasguns charge automatically when aiming down sights. - I have its toggle bound to **Y**. 46. Hybrid Sprint - QoL to provide better sprinting experience by combining Toggle and Hold sprinting mechanic together (similar to Apex Legends?). - I personally don't use this. 47. Immersive Evasion - Makes dodge and slide tilt the camera for immersive evasion experience. - I personally don't use this but a lot of people (my friend included like it). 48. Inventory Hider - Useful for getting a clean screenshot of your character. 49. Keep Dodging - QoL if you want to auto-dodge when moving to the side or backwards (with the use of toggle or hold button). - I don't use it. 50. Keep Swinging - QoL if you want to auto-swing light attacks. - Conflicts with/ overrides *Unga Bunga*, with setting toggle on Keep Swinging. - I don't use it. 51. Kill Tracker - Tracks mission kills and combos (Similar to Helldiver's killcount combo). - I use it (after repositioning it using *Custom HUD*). 52. Less Annoying Arbites - Nice Arbites QoL and recolor outline of your dog and/ or Allied dogs. - I let *Dog Whistle* handle auto-targeting and pings. 53. Less Annoying Duos - Hide and reduce Bot Hud Elements for disabled and hogtied bots. - Nice to have if you don't care and don't want to be distracted by Bots (their AI is so dumb). 54. Less Annoying Indicators - Changes the zealot dash/charge targeting visual effect to a magenta glowing head (e.g. taunt target, havoc green headed buff) - I personally use it. 55. LessDoT - Disables DoT visual effects by enemy type, per DoT effect. - I remove DoT visual effects on Fodder enemies. 56. Loadout Monitor - In the Mod Options, scroll down and set the **Other: Lift Tactical Overlay** slider to **240** so it doesn't conflict with the display of Contract Overlay. - **If you don't want your Scoreboard to overflow**, disable the Scoreboard display option in Loadout Monitor's mod options or disable some of the Scoreboard mod's categories/ plugins. 57. Many More Try - For Mission ID saving/ sharing. Missions *expire* in 24 hours and you can play saved missions using this mod and the mission ID even if it is not on the Mission Board. - See the Other Mod Usage Instruction section below for how to use this mod. 58. More Characters and Loadouts - Used to increase number of Characters to 8 from the pre-Battle of Tertium update 5 Characters maximum. - If you decide to disable/ uninstall this mod, remember to delete any additional loadouts. - A Fatshark account already approved the use of this mod. - The Hard limit of characters is still 8 as of the Battle of Tertium update. - You can increase the number of loadouts further by editing the mod's lua. 59. More Graphics Options - Adds additional graphics options to turn off for performance or visual tweaking (Fogs, Lights, etc.). - If your PC is good (i.e. meet the recommended requirements), you probably don't need this. - I don't use it. 60. Pause Vision - Makes the pause & options menu more transparent. 61. Quick-Inject Stimms - Panic Stimm - Keybind to quickly self-inject Stimm. - Options for quick-inject on button press or on button hold (and hold button length). - Options to decide what happens after (Wield Previous/ Default Behavior) - "Wield Previous" is slightly different from "Default Behavior." - Firstly, default behavior will not switch to your blitz even if it was what you were last holding. - Secondly, if you pick up a new stimm shortly after using one, default behavior will leave you holding the new stimm. - "Wield Previous" will instead swap to whatever you were previously holding. - If this mod gets stuck at any point during an auto-injection, simply press the auto-injection button again to get it unstuck. - My Settings: - Quick-Inject: 4 - Quick-inject Timing: Hold to Inject - Quick-Inject Hold Duration: 0.4 - After Injection: Wield Previous Weapon 65. Scan Helper - During Auspex Scan Objectives, shows all environment targets that need to be scanned with the Auspex with a green highlight (through the wall). 70. Show Insignias - Shows player insignias during missions. 72. Show Crit Chance - Tweak the X and Y offset to position it (Does not leverage Custom HUD). - I also tweaked the opacity value. 73. Show Remaining Dodges - Alternative to Numeric UI's *show dodge count option*. - In Darktide you can dodge infinitely, but once you dodge consecutively more times than your dodge limit your dodges become ineffective. - They will become shorter and more sluggish until you stop and wait for the gauge to recharge. - This mod shows how many effective dodges, both max and consecutive, you have. - I personally use Numeric UI's show dodge count option and disabled this mod. 74. Simple Speed Meter - Reposition using Custom HUD, I put it at the bottom of the screen. - Helps identifying whether your primary or secondary (or blitz) is faster for moving around. - Can skip if you think it is TMI/ distracting. 75. Speak Up - Tweak the volume adjustment when someone is using in-game VOIP. 76. Specials Tracker - Newer alternative/ evolution to the Spawn Feed mod. - Notify player on special and monstrosity spawns or deaths and/ or adds a permanent HUD element which lists and display count of active specials/ monstrosities. - Note: Includes Sniper specials by default. - Customizable: exclude specific specials/ monstrosity, color code priority list. - IIRC, you can right click the Special List to hide it using Custom HUD, if you just want the spawn/ kill notification. - QoL for newer players and those with a sound setup that is bad at communicating special spawns; Accessibility for the hearing impaired. 77. Spidey Sense - This will add visual indicators to audio cues from various special/elite enemies eg, mutants and hounds. - This will also offer visual backstab warning. - Tweak it based on preference (color, distance of indicator to crosshair, etc.) disable/ remove it if it is TMI. - Useful for the Hard of Hearing/ Deaf. 78. Stop Accidental Jumps - You don't need this mod if you bind your dodge to a different button than your jump key (e.g. bound dodge to Shift/ Sprint). - If you like to do jump shots while ADS-ing and strafing, you might not want this mod. - I rebind dodge to Shift while still having jump on Spacebar, so I don't use this. 79. Super Flashlight (temporarily removed) - Customize the light effect of the flashlight (Super powerful default). 80. Tap 2 Dodge - QoL option for those who are used to double tap dodge action from other games. - I personally don't use it. 81. Toggle Alt Fire - Conflicts with **Default to Sprint**. - Toggle QoL option. - **As of Patch #13, Darktide has a vanilla Toggle ADS and Braced setting - keep that setting disabled for this mod to work(i.e. you should have to hold to aim)** or just use the vanilla setting instead of this mod. - This mod allows you to toggle the alternate fire for ranged weapons. - For most ranged weapons, that means the aim-down-sights is toggled, but this mod extends to all the ranged weapons in the game, including flamers and force staves. - Each ranged weapon category can be individually set to toggle in the mod options, so if you prefer to hold the alt-fire action for certain weapon types, you can do so easily. - Additionally, certain actions can be set to untoggle; for example, by default, venting a staff or plasma gun untoggles the alt-fire. - I personally don't use it, but I have a discord friend who prefers more actions to be on Toggle. 82. Toggle HUD - Toggle show/ hide HUD - You can use `/hud` chat command to show/ hide your HUD - You can also keybind a key - If your HUD ever disappears while playing or editing with Custom HUD, doing `/hud` twice should bring it back. 83. Toggle Interact - Toggle action QoL. - I personally don't use this, but I have a discord friend who prefers more actions to be on Toggle. 84. Transparent Shield (Temporarily Removed, hidden by author) - Simple mod that makes Ogryn's Slab Shield transparent. - You can choose the opacity in the mod options (I set it to 60-80%). 87. Trauma Outlines - Highlights enemies within Voidblast radius (Psyker staff). - I use default options. 88. Tree Helper - This mod shows you the correct scan targets to choose for the Hab Dreyko tree event. 89. Unga Bunga - QOL if you want to auto-swing Heavy attacks. - Conflicts with/ Complements *Keep Swinging*, with setting toggle on Keep Swinging. - I personally don't use it. 90. Valkyrie Blitz-Ingress - I use default values. - Disable or remove if you want to hear Mission Briefing audio dialogue. 91. Vox Mask - Client-side mod that allows you to change your character's voice filter from the default voice filter of their headgear. - I personally don't use it. 92. Weapon FOV - Allows scaling the viewmodel (default for default FOV is 65) - Also allows you to change the zoom level on weapon ADS (e.g. I use it to remove the zoom level for rumbler, Revolver, Bolt Pistol, Grenade Gauntlet, etc.) - Throws error message on login

With a subjective ordering based on importance: 1. Numeric UI mod - I personally have **Show Dodge Count** and **number of efficient dodges** enabled. - Disable the above if you use the optional Show Remaining Dodges Mod. - I turned **Show peril percent text** and **Show peril icon** to **Off** as I use the optional Peril Gauge Mod. 2. Who Are You mod - I personally put **Display Style** to **Character Name (Account Name)** and **Applied To: Combat Feed and Nameplate** to **Off**. 3. Disable Screen Effects mod - I personally set everything to **On**, except: - Disable blood splatter - Disable in buildup twin toxic gas - Disable chaos beast of nurgle hit by vomit - Disable cm habs tree in slime - Disable damage taken - Disable toughness absorbed melee - Disable toughness absorbed 4. StaminaVis - I use the default stamina bar settings. You can tweak transparency, percentage display side, etc. 15. Less Annoying Ping - You can choose to keep or replace the Ping Sound. 16.
