Do not install the game within the default proposed path, but install it on a seperate drive where you have real full admin rights For example: d:\XboxGames\Starfield ## Initial Needed Software 1. **Starfield version PC Game pass v1.8.86.0** as of date of publishing this guide, will follow updates and test the mods and publish updates when needed 2. **Vortex Mod Manager**: download from NEXUS MODS - [Vortex Mod Manager (nexusmods.com)](https://www.nexusmods.com/about/vortex/) 3. **Bethini Pie**: download from NEXUS MODS - [Bethini Pie (Performance INI Editor) at Modding Tools - Nexus Mods](https://www.nexusmods.com/site/mods/631) ## Setup Vortex 1. Follow the instructions from Vortex Mod manager on how to setup modding profile for Starfield. 2. Correct Vortex Extension will be downloaded automatically 3. Make a Vanilla profile which has no mods installed so you can always fallback to a non modded version for troubleshooting or playing the game in Vanilla 4. Create a seperate profile manually for the mod list or choose to create one when downloading this collection. Now you can start modding the game or download the complete collection from Nexus Mods, however some manual installation is required, see below in the next steps. # Modding requirements > Please follow the below instructions to the letter or the collection will not work as intended! ## Vortex Mod Manager tweaks - Make sure you selected a correct Mod staging folder in Vortex > Settings > Mods, should ideally be on the same drive as your game installation folder - Select "Hardlink Deployment" as Deployment method on the same tab - Toggle "Use Folder Junction" to ON ## Bethini Pie tweaks - Start Bethini Pie, choose Starfield as game - Choose your correct resolution, this guide is made for Ultra-Wide 21:9 resolution 3840x1600, but should work on standard 16:9 resolutions as well - Under Presets click "Apply Recommended Tweaks" - Check that "Load loose files" is enabled (will be done anyway by following the next steps) - **Once done close Bethini Pie AND never ever do this again!! You will copy my Starfield custom settings later on ...** - The above steps are just to build a starting baseline for the rest of the guide # Configuration files > Please always check these after each version update of the Collection, these should be manually updated, especially for the texture packs! ## StarfieldCustom.ini This should be the contents of your StarfieldCustom.ini
