Key Features
Change Mod Storage Location
One of the most requested features is now available: the ability to change where your mods are stored. You can now specify your preferred storage location within the settings. However, there is an important note: you’ll need to manually move your files after changing the location and restart the app. While we plan to improve this feature in the future and automate the process, for now, this gives you more control over where your mods are stored. We have a help page available if you need it.
Enhanced Mod Search
If you’ve got a long list of mods in your Library, finding the one you need can be tricky. So, we’ve added a search bar to make this much easier. You can now search by mod name, file size, version number, or even how long ago a mod was downloaded. For example, if you're looking for a specific mod or even if you want to find mods from a few days ago, the search functionality will help you find them quickly. The best part? It’s fast, even with hundreds of mods in your library. We’re also planning on expanding this search feature with more filtering options in future updates.
Collections for Better Mod Organisation
We’ve also started working on collections, a much-anticipated feature. Every user starts with a default collection called "My Mods," where all installed mods are stored. However, you can now create additional collections for specific sets of mods, such as a texture pack or gameplay overhaul collection. In a future release, you’ll also be able to share these collections with others. The system is still being refined, but we’re excited to see how this feature helps improve mod organisation. Soon, you’ll be able to fork collections created by other users, making it even easier to share and modify mods.
What’s Next?
Here’s a look at what the team is working on:
- More Collection Features: We’re continuing to improve the collection creation process, including ways to make collections more stable and reliable.
- Epic Games Store Support: We’re working on Epic Games Store support, starting with Cyberpunk 2077.
- Mod Storage Improvements: We’re adding more options for storing your mods, allowing you to move them more easily between locations and ensure that everything stays organised.
We’re always working to improve your modding experience, and we appreciate all the feedback we’ve received. We’ve made a lot of progress this month, but there’s still more to come. Stay tuned for more updates, and as always, keep the feedback coming. We’ll be back next month with more news.

I love the experience.
Been waiting for this since Vortex existed.
Already made the suggestion, it seems it wasn't accepted. Please add a way to change the default Staging folder.
Sincere thanks to the NM team and the Modders!
I see there's categories for mods, right next to them, can we make our own ones? (for main page)
Let's say I would made a collection with categories: GRAPHICS, GAMEPLAY, QoL, BUGFIXES, DLCs, ROMANCES.
Everyone should be able to uncheck any of these categories. Not everyone has DLCs or wants mods for romances right?
I don't think categories on Nexus would be suitable for making a modular collection..
For example - there's a romantic mod for Dragon Age: Origins called "TSM Alistair' Rose" (he gives you an amulet).
A category for this mod on Nexus is 'Items'. XD
Not something you can just uncheck as a whole.
Thoughts?
It used to be that Vortex would take a long, long, long time to finish
sorting mods, load order, doing electromagikal stuff, or whatever kept
the little circle spinning before I could press the 'Play' icon to start
Fallout. Since the relevant upgrade, the process takes a second or
two.
I wasn't sure where to comment before, so this seems like a reasonable choice. (Insert 'Rolling Eyes' emoji here)
Thank you Nexus/Vortex team!
I was wondering what will happen to Vortex when this app got full release? Will it be taken over by the community like the old NMM? Or will be simply discontinued and replaced with this?
