Activity points

  • Comment
Some new stats have been added to all user accounts on the site called "Activity Points" or AP.

Each time you perform a beneficial action on a Nexus site you'll gain AP so that other users of the site can see how much you have done on the Nexus sites. The more AP you accrue the higher your level and rank on the sites will be. At the moment AP and levels are just for show; they don't unlock any special features or secret sections of the site but who knows, maybe in the future your AP might be put to good use.

For more information on Action Points including what actions will increase your action points and by how much check out the article I've written on action points.

Your action points are shown in your profile (with a break-down of what actions have given you points) as well as when you post on the forums or leave comments on files, images and articles.

This is quite a interesting new feature. Nice Work !

I have noticed its a bit buggy though. ie last nite i had 300 + action points and now im down to around 200..
the only thing ive done on the site is vote for a file of the month (changed my mind a few times) and added a couple of endorsements. (im thinking that should increase my action points not decrease them ?)

also seems the tag AP reward is a bit exploitable. Ie what to stop someone with 2 friends going around and tagging all the untagged mods. mind you ... going to that effort to get more AP is a bit of a desperado move..

edit... lol and now im back up to 300 AP... but 5 mins ago I was 205 AP...

The reputation is some sort of moderation:
If you give thumbs down, that comment will not be shown. (Unless you click show or something...)
If you give thumbs up, people will simply know that it has good info or something.. <img class=">

There may be some real functions as well, but I don't know any more.

    I see...

    Thank you for the reply!

The reputation have been around for some time now IIRC... <img class=">

I guess I do not usually look at those options when I post comments on TESNexus... What is it though?

Does this have anything to do with the Reputation thing I am seeing on user's posts at tesnexus.com? It has a red award ribbon next to it. What is that?

The point of these points(^^) is to make users more active, as getting a higher rank is like a reward (CoD anyone?), as well as letting people know how active a user is. (Could be many scenarios in which this will be useful)

And it gives the users who contribute a lot a good feeling^^

Personally I don't see the point of action points for a web site, but I am rather bemused to see that I have more Action Points when sitting at my work PC than I do when sitting at my home PC. I guess when I'm at work I'm just more important!

a 'Sort by AP' in the 'Top members' would be quite cool.
